As to the future of drunkin’ blogging, I think it remains to be seen.  Overall, I think I prefer sober blogging - probably because it’s easier to find those keys and I find it better when I have clear subject in mind.  Last night’s effort was more like, “Wheeeee…let’s see what happens when you combine beer & blogs?!?!?!”

As for the rest of this morning…one word.  Coffee.

Under normal circumstances, I opt to not blog whilst intoxicated - but it occurred to me that I had never done it before.  So, why not give it a whirl.  I have a backspace, right?

I’m making a mix album at the moment, for reasons I will not specify.  Essentially, it’s a CD that compiles several songs that I feel describes a moment in my life.  At this time, I’m listening to it in it’s entirety to insure it suits the purpose for which it’s been created.  So far, so good.

I love winter time.  It’s the time of year where Deschutes Jubelale comes about and this years batch returns to it’s roots of the yummy pre-2006-era batches.  This years batch is particularly drinkable & festive - it warms the soul rather well.  I’ve enjoyed the recent six pack and have also discovered a venue that sports it on tap.  (Hard to do when you’re hundreds of miles from the brewery!!)

I hope it snows soon.  I’m feelin’ the need for winter and over the last several years, have become accustomed to significantly more active winterness than my hometown of Portland, OR.  I’ve come to love travelling around Montana this time of year, with the many snow-capped mountains we have here.

I love music.  It is my diffuser, my friend, my lifelong companion.

So there I was in the middle of nowhere, cruising along & rocking out to some tunes, when I noted two very bright lights in the southern sky.  These lights were bright - like staring down a 747 with their landing lights on.  Problem was, I was able to rule out aircraft very quickly when they didn’t really move anywhere.

It was hard to judge the distance of the lights due to their brightness…but my guesstimation was that they were “surface to air missile” close.  I’ve seen my share of celestial bodies - stars, comets, shooting stars and planets - and nothing had struck me as bright and near as these two points of light in the sky.

So, naturally, with the absence of any rational explanation, I assumed they were UFO’s.  :)  (I think my discussions with Peter Davenport, director of the National UFO Reporting Center are getting to me!)  I thought about calling Peter, but I decided to do a little research first.

Well, interestingly enough…Venus & Jupiter happen to be hanging out at night right near the very patch of sky that I was looking at.  Mystery explained.  Montana’s a hot bed for UFO activity, according to some of my cursory research…but thankfully, this time it’s just a couple planets.

Apparently, tomorrow night (Nov. 30th), the pair of planets will appear closest together.  The following night, the crescent moon will intersect with the pair, briefly creating a momentary “unhappy face” in the sky.

I’m still taken aback by how bright, clear and near these reflections of the sun seemed.  I think I’m still not accustomed to the very dark darkness out here and the increased elevation is also certainly playing a role.

The words “Big Sky” have new meaning for me today.  I love the Montana sky.

While millions huddled around advertisements and oogled over cheap crap that nobody needs, I didn’t even bother to crack the newspaper.  Waking up this morning, I sipped coffee and tooled around with my blog while Americana consumer-bots trampled each other and fought for their right to surrender their hard earned cash to corporate executives.  As America heaved their day’s acquisitions into their cars and homes, I took pride that not one new possession entered my home.

I was a little worried this year - there was a chance I might’ve had to buy a thing.  But, as it turns out, it’s 8:30PM and I don’t forsee needing to crack the wallet any time in the next several hours.

Some days, it feels good to not do something.

On the flip side, they do (logically) project that gold prices could surge through $2,000 an ounce as world markets recover from severe inflationary injections or we continue the downward spiral into depression.

To those of us who are paying attention and have a realistic understanding of fiat currencies and credit based markets, this comes as no surprise.  It’s interesting to see the world come to grips with it, though.

Citigroup says gold could rise above $2,000 next year as world unravels

Gold is poised for a dramatic surge and could blast through $2,000 an ounce by the end of next year as central banks flood the world’s monetary system with liquidity, according to an internal client note from the US bank Citigroup.

The bank said the damage caused by the financial excesses of the last quarter century was forcing the world’s authorities to take steps that had never been tried before.

This gamble was likely to end in one of two extreme ways: with either a resurgence of inflation; or a downward spiral into depression, civil disorder, and possibly wars. Both outcomes will cause a rush for gold.

“They are throwing the kitchen sink at this,” said Tom Fitzpatrick, the bank’s chief technical strategist.

“The world is not going back to normal after the magnitude of what they have done. When the dust settles this will either work, and the money they have pushed into the system will feed though into an inflation shock.

“Or it will not work because too much damage has already been done, and we will see continued financial deterioration, causing further economic deterioration, with the risk of a feedback loop. We don’t think this is the more likely outcome, but as each week and month passes, there is a growing danger of vicious circle as confidence erodes,” he said.

“This will lead to political instability. We are already seeing countries on the periphery of Europe under severe stress. Some leaders are now at record levels of unpopularity. There is a risk of domestic unrest, starting with strikes because people are feeling disenfranchised.”

“What happens if there is a meltdown in a country like Pakistan, which is a nuclear power. People react when they have their backs to the wall. We’re already seeing doubts emerge about the sovereign debts of developed AAA-rated countries, which is not something you can ignore,” he said.

Gold traders are playing close attention to reports from Beijing that the China is thinking of boosting its gold reserves from 600 tonnes to nearer 4,000 tonnes to diversify away from paper currencies. “If true, this is a very material change,” he said.

Mr Fitzpatrick said Britain had made a mistake selling off half its gold at the bottom of the market between 1999 to 2002. “People have started to question the value of government debt,” he said.

Citigroup said the blast-off was likely to occur within two years, and possibly as soon as 2009. Gold was trading yesterday at $812 an ounce. It is well off its all-time peak of $1,030 in February but has held up much better than other commodities over the last few months – reverting to is historical role as a safe-haven store of value and a de facto currency.

Gold has tripled in value over the last seven years, vastly outperforming Wall Street and European bourses.

This just goes to show how controlling a few major population centers is all it takes to rule America.  Either that or that it doesn’t really take a majority to do so.

It really makes me want to go on some rant about why a republic, not a democracy, is so much better suited for America.  Instead, I’ll just let the image do the talking and you can come to your own conclusions.

I had a great time.  About 30 people gathered at it’s high point - not bad considering that many had to travel several hours there and back just to be there.  There were dozens of hand made signs - saying everything from “End The Fed” to my sign, which read, “Wake up.  You owe THIS bank $35,000.00!”  I had several folks comment that they liked my sign and an attending family voted it as “the best.” 

Despite our efforts, it wasn’t possible to get local news media down there.  Apparently, nothing happens in Helena on Saturday or Sunday…so the news crews just simply don’t come to work that day.  Even if it means breaking the biggest story of the last century - “Private federal reserve bank steals trillions from American taxpayers.”  Oh, well.

The response from the area was mixed - a large majority looked on in a confused state; looking at our signs and then looking at the bank with the words “Huh?” going through their minds.  Some were very supportive…honking and waving at us…some even making a second trip to amplify their support.  Then there were the two who apparently didn’t understand what we were protesting and opted to give us the one finger salute.  They must’ve thought we were protesting the war or something.  We were able to distribute literature to quite a few stopping cars.  One of the young & spunky gals was marvelously effective at shoving bags stuffed with good info into closed windows on vehicles.  Nonetheless, it was a great opportunity to get the message out and I’m certain that at least some people are better off today because of it.

As for me, I’ll definately be there next year on 11/22.  And I hope in the coming year we can rally additional support and get hundreds of folks out there.  I’m certain that if the economy stays on it’s current track, by this time next year a LOT of folks are going to be pissed off enough to do something about it.

Tomorrow is not as far off as it seems.

This coming weekend, I will be joining thousands of others across the country in the first ever nationwide organized protest of the Federal Reserve.  On November 22nd, at every Federal Reserve branch across the nation, individuals will rally against the fiat reserve currency system and the wealthy demons behind it.  Our purpose?  To educate and raise awareness to the Federal Reserve - the private entity to which Americans owe trillions of dollars to and those who rule us through money.

You can join us too…End the Fed is coming on 11/22 to a city near you!

If you’re so inclined, check out this recent video from Ron Paul on the results of the recent international central banker meeting.  The things that are going on in the financial sectors today are some of the most pressing issues facing us today.  I suggest we heed Paul’s advice and admit our mistakes and accept reality as soon as possible.

And on a fantastic note, Ron Paul has not entirely ruled out running for President in 2012.  Spread the word!!!!  As for me, I hope to be campaigning again for Paul by the middle of next year.  With three years to prepare, I think we’d have a serious shot.

What attracted me in particular to this theme were two things.  First, I loved the visual layout of it…it’s clean, flexible and extensible well beyond the free templates out there.  Second, it now allows me to easily take advantage of Wordpress widgets, fully allowing me to leverage “Web 2.0″ features.

You might notice my new “Last.FM” plugin on the right which allows me to display my recently listened albums.  How kewl is that?  Very kewl, in my opinion.  And how about that featured video?  Excellent!   I’m currently investigating the options available to me, so you’ll be seeing some new things coming to my blog in coming months.  You should also see customizatons to the theme that will better suit my taste.

It is more out my interest to educate people out there on what I feel are the core issues facing our country.  The issue of voter integrity is paramount, for, if we don’t have an election process that can be trusted and verified, the entire process of citizen rule is undermined.  This topic is probably too little, too late…considering we just had our election.  But, ongoing awareness certainly wouldn’t hurt anything.

I recently spent 36 minutes watching this video.  It is, hands down, the best documentary I’ve seen yet on voter fraud issues here in America.  This is an excellent way to spend 36 minutes of your life.

First off, I’m sure some are interested in my take on the election.  Well…it is now known that Ron Paul will, in fact, not be our next president.  Instead, I’m seeing a euphoric and God awfully weird, manufactured messiahfest sweep across the nation.  I just hope these ignoramuses realize that if they want change, it’s the people that are actually going to change things.  I hope they’re prepared to make their chimp perform.  Sadly, I think the overwhelming majority of them think their vote is their highest civic duty and we’re going to see more of the same dressed up like “change” in the coming years.

Then again, we will likely be in for a bumpy ride here in the near future as we recoil from the effects of massive inflation caused by these serial bailouts, military occupations and seismic future obligations.  The way I see it, Obama’s going to be our escort into the New World Order.  Not exactly the kind of change I was looking for.

On a lighter note, my official home is now Missoula, Montana.  I made a decision to move here after being offered an opportunity to transfer within my company.  It’s a different world than Spokane, and I miss my many friends there…but a lot of things made sense about me moving to Montana.  Now that I live here, I can tell you it sucks and you would never want to live here. 

With that said, I’ve picked up my liberty and educational efforts here in my new state and have been actively participating in the Campaign For Liberty.  The new C4L site has proven to be a marvelous networking tool and could prove to be a game changer in coming years.  I’m just starting to get in touch with folks across the state, but this place is all ready starting to look like just as fertile ground for a statewide liberty coalition as Washington was.  There’s a lot of work that must be done to get there, though.

It wasn’t all that long ago that I found myself in the improbable position of being a key coordinator for Ron Paul’s national delegate effort at the Washington State Republican Convention. I was on the inside, amongst the most trusted, dedicated and capable Ron Paul supporters in the state of Washington. This group was amazing. Like me, they were willing to deny themselves sleep, spend months of man-hours and do whatever it took to give Ron Paul a fighting chance of getting national delegates at the Washington State Republican Convention.

Together, we had planned out almost every possible scenario, locked down hundreds of details and pushed this State Convention well beyond where any had been before. We had a strong delegation – nearly 40%, or about 450 people. We owned the perimeter with a decked out Ron Paul RV command center, a glow-in-the-dark Ron Paul van and hundreds of Ron Paul signs deployed in the surrounding area. We even had our very own Ron Paul bottled water and an awe-inspiring Ron Paul display directly across the street from the convention center. It was a masterpiece of the grassroots. We were ready.

So were they. During an executive session a few days before the convention the Washington State Republican Party (WSRP) illegally passed an executive rule, ultimately ratified by the Washington State Republican delegation, that essentially controlled the ballots and prevented legal voters from fairly electing a large number of national delegate positions.

Undeterred, we hit the convention floor running – we were prepared to challenge the rules, the credentials report, and the order of business – essentially, we intended to lay down an intellectual fight at every level. It was clear early on that this would be no easy battle…and in hindsight, what we wanted never would have happened. The deck was stacked and the other side was willing to break laws to maintain its position.

Despite being outright denied any semblance of fair representative elections, our delegates were able to win 10 national delegate and alternate positions for Ron Paul. But then something unexpected began happening: At the cost of adopting by acclimation a so-called Soviet style “Unity Slate,” the tide began to change. We were then able to utilize core conservative values to break up McCain leadership’s stronghold and methodically cause their delegates to vote against their conservative conscience in the process of Resolutions and Platform. This caused a crisis in the ranks of the party faithful. Leadership had led them to vote against things like right to life and 2nd Amendment rights just to oppose Ron Paul supporters. If we could claim one major victory during this convention, it would be this: Members of the party who believe in the system discovered that it is a closed system, that your voice will be heard and your vote counted only if they are in agreement with leadership.

As we broke for lunch, there was a definite shift in the attitude among many McCain supporters. It was as if we were no longer the enemy. McCain campaign strategists on the floor were sensing the shift and made a deal with us. They agreed to make no attempt to block our resolutions so long as we did not resolve to withdraw from Iraq. They warned that they would leave the convention and deny us a quorum if we brought up our war resolutions.

Just two hours before the end of the convention, the John McCain leadership began instructing their delegates to leave the convention floor when we resolved to oppose Real ID. Delegation chairmen and McCain leaders, like sheep in the fold, followed orders and began evacuating their willing delegates. Hundreds upon hundreds of delegates sheepishly stepped out of the room. Their plan was to deny the Ron Paul delegates a quorum (a majority) and consequently end the convention right there.

What the McCain camp hadn’t anticipated was that our previous methods had worked. Those who remained, all 700+ of them, established a quorum…we had won over the hearts and minds of the majority. What time we had was only able to be used for passing a resolution that requires the WSRP to officially observe the Constitution when declaring war, thereby requiring an official declaration by Congress. We were about five minutes away from approving a motion to extend the convention until all business had been completed when the McCain people started filing back in and diluted our 2/3 majority. Nonetheless, we had accomplished our goal all along – to cause McCain delegates to question their leadership, realize their hypocrisy and rethink everything they had been told about Ron Paul and his supporters.

In conclusion, the most important thing we accomplished was a political education for hundreds of new people in the state of Washington. I can only pray that these individuals, further resolved by their treatment at the convention, realize the imminent need to further the Ron Paul Revolution, with or without Ron Paul. This is the only hope we have for regaining control over our country and avoiding tyrannical big brother government, bent on keeping us in a prison without bars.

It was funny…as I was watching this video, I began to be a little disappointed.  I was like, “that’s it?” - over a million votes and “that’s it?”  But then the camera man zoomed in on the approaching demonstrators and I did a complete 180.  I can’t even imagine what Minneapolis / St. Paul is gonna be like…but this march is on the magnitude of insane.

Where the Bear Stearns bailout alarmed me with billions of US taxpayer’s dollars going towards preventing assured destruction of the US economy (from systemic collapse), this latest bailout has me in an absolute state of panic.  These two mortgage firms financially back nearly half of all US mortgages - trillions upon trillions of dollars of investment dollars.  We’re talking a multi-TRILLION dollar bailout here with the capacity to nearly double the US national debt overnight.  Yes, folks, that means our money will be worth nearly HALF as much once the trickle effect of that money being spent into the world’s economy is felt.

Oddly, after the news of the Federal Reserve backing the failed mortgage firms came out, the US dollar rallied back up.  This is completely counter-intuitive and clearly shows how well the market is manipulated and misinformed.  With multiple trillions being induced into the economy, the only *logical* result is for the value of the dollar to go DOWN.  More money in the economy, unbacked by anything of value EQUALS inflation.  Yet, mark my words, it will fall…and it’s gonna fall harder than I ever expected.

News reports are also saying that this bailout marks the last and final we will see from the Federal Reserve.  On one hand, that’s good news because US taxpayers are footing the bill - but on the other hand, it means that systemic collapse is a very real risk.  Once the collapse begins to occur, there is no stopping it - and we WILL feel an economic recession that makes the 1920’s look like child’s play.

As was expected, gold and silver rallied back up to levels seen several months ago - a surefire indication that things are in trouble.  I only expect these to continue their upward trend, despite being heavily manipulated.  Those who control the market can only do so much.  These two investments will be one of the few that can survive the up and coming disaster that is looming on our doorstep.

I was also thinking about this global warming problem, right? Now, I’ve researched both sides of the arguments and it’s clear that no one has any idea what’s going on. One side says there’s no evidence of humans causing global warming…and another side says, oh my God, look out, we’re all gonna die. Some even say there is no global warming, and yet even others would forget to breathe if it weren’t pre-programmed into our brains. While all these politicians and so-called experts doddle on what-ever-to-do about this supposed problem, I came up with a band-aid.

The world’s oil consumption is somewhere around 87 million barrels per day, or approximately 3.65 billion gallons *per day*. The proposed major problem with global warming is that sea levels might rise and cause major flooding of coastal towns, right?

So, to band-aid the earth of all it’s supposed global warming woes, all we gotta do is switch to water powered vehicles, start sucking that 3+ billion gallons of water per day out of the sea and we’ll neutralize the global warming threat. And since there’s about 326 million trillion gallons of water on earth, that’ll last us for the next 244 million years, plus or minus a couple years.

This method has some major benefits, aside from the obvious of using a clean fuel.

We can keep doing whatever the heck we want to do without worry…like driving our ten wheel diesel trucks to pull obscenely oversized RV’s, pumping cubic foot after foot of putrid nastiness into the air, and God-forbid, we can keep breathing without having to pay a tax just to be alive. To boot, we’ll eventually get more real estate to solve our burgeoning population problem. We’ll also get better weather unless you live in Arizona or Dubai - in which case, I hate to break it to you, but people were not designed to survive living in a desert.

One arm of this has been the Net Neutrality legislation that has recently been discussed by congress. Essentially, net neutrality is the idea behind giving certain precedence to some websites over others, based on the ability of the service provider to pay the proper fees. So, for example, Google could afford to pay for massive usage and get fast speeds - whereas my site would be slow (or completely unavailable) because I am unwilling to pay or can’t afford such usage fees. This is bad stuff for the internet as it will completely favor large corporations and cause smaller, less-popular websites to suffer viewership because of such regulation.

Another branch of this is the technology aspects of Internet 2. There is great question over what this could encompass, however, concern is placed over what technologies would be allowed to exist over such a network. Most people think of the internet as “the web” - but it’s much larger than that. For example, IRC (internet relay chat) is a sub technology, like “the web,” that rides over the internet. Another example might be a voice-over-IP telephone connection. Little is truly known about what Internet 2 might actually look like from the technology perspective.

Now, I’ve been hearing “crying wolf” stories about the regulation of the internet so many times that I’ve almost become numb to it. However, just recently, another alarm has gone off on this front and I feel obliged to reveal it to you. Sources have uncovered what may be leaked information about some of the potential design aspects of this new internet technology, informally termed Internet 2.

Essentially, leaked information suggests that internet service providers may go to a “pay per view” model, as early as 2012, where users are charged based for their internet usage habits. Going even further, the information also suggests that a certain list of “approved sites” would be readily available for anyone to access, however, the millions of *other* websites out there would require pay-per-view type access accounts and/or a more costly tier of service to access them.

There is no doubt that a move like this would radically transform the look, feel and freedom of the internet. Many of the sites and things that we enjoy on the internet could be significantly threatened if a business model like this is allowed to come to fruition.

I’m still waiting for several independent sources to confirm this information and awaiting further investigation to be released, but this latest threat appears to be somewhat credible with the news that has been released so far.

So, I was cruising the ‘net, getting informed, as I often do…and I found this little gem - a 9/11 truth music video, the first to my knowledge. Gotta say, it’s a little catchy…and considering I mostly detest disco and wish it would just go away forever, it’s been rolling through my head ever since I heard it. Ron Paul.

It was with mixed emotion that I learned of the Ron Paul presidential campaign coming to an official end. On one hand, I have invested so much of my time, blood, sweat and tears as a grassroots activist for his bid for Presidency, and I’m wondering what I can do now that it’s clear that America has made two bad choices. On the other hand, though, I realized quite some time ago that mainstream America was not READY for Ron Paul and that this effort was more about the message than the man or a Presidential seat. It is an effort to steer America off this path of certain financial ruin, to preserve the original intent of our country and to stave off hundreds of powerful elitists that want as much control over mankind as possible.

I have been concerned for some time that this movement of freedom fighters inspired by Ron Paul would fracture into thousands of pieces and eventually and irrevocably be lost until the next great conservative comes along. I was hoping that Ron Paul would steer us in a right direction - a channel to funnel our energy into effectual change based around the principles we love and cherish. Freedom. Peace. Prosperity.

As I have frequently found the case, he and I share consistent concerns. I am happy to announce that Dr. Paul has done it right, yet again. He has announced phase two of his campaign - a much broader and
longer term project - the Campaign for Liberty. Essentially, it is an advocacy group to educate and inform the public, promote our common principles and insure the retention of this amazing network of some of the smartest people in America. There is no doubt there’s something amazing about this group - within 24 hours of the announcement of this new phase, almost 42,000 supporters have joined the new campaign and it’s growing by the minute.  These are numbers that can seriously change things, especially if they are a group that is paying attention, dedicated to the cause, and can focus their energy on the same things at the same time.

I also have a bad habit of writing long posts - many of which I start and inevitably do not finish for one reason or another.

One of these days, maybe some time next month, I’m going to write a memoir post about the primary use of free time for the last six months. I have a thousand things to say, but this music video pretty much sums it up for me. I’m attending the Washington State Republican Convention next week as an elected delegate, as well as assisting the coordination of the statewide Ron Paul faction, and this perfectly timed tune is my anthem.
