A blast was had by all. We found mud, small lakes, giant hills, and overall great fun. There were five rigs (4 Nissan Pathfinders & one Dodge Dakota) but the Dodge couldn’t quite keep up. About a minute into the park, the Dodge buried itself down an embankment and was one stuck puppy. It took two Pathfinders to pull him out – quite an amazing feat. Sure enough, not ten minutes later, the Dodge owner slammed his rig into a dirt embankment and took out his front bumper. He’d had enough and the Pathfinders ruled the day!

Yeah, what’s new? I did go to Canada over the Memorial day weekend – that was kewl. I was camping in the Northernmost tip of Idaho for the weekend and decided to make a venture up to the Great North. I visited Nelson, British Columbia – a quaint little town nested just off Kootenay lake, filled with pot-loving hippies and a fascinating culture. Loved the town – visited the main park alongside the river, took the ridiculously overpriced trolley, and cruised the “downtown” strip on foot. Everyone there takes American cash, which I found odd because nowhere in America (except on the very border’s edge) will they accept any other country’s money. It’s better to do as I did and exchange money at a bank or currency conversion shop, though. On the fly calculations rarely work to your favor.

Whats’s funny about Canada is that not five miles across the border you literally run into people who finish every sentence with “eh” and the dialect takes a sharp turn towards a southern-english-french blend of speaking. It’s just bizarre. Great country though! I was there long enough just to get used to the metric system and t0 have learned to balance my speedometer at 62.13 MPH to go 100KPH. I would like to spend more time up in that region. The Kootenay lake region is some of the most beautiful country I’ve ever witnessed and I would love to venture further.

Well, I’m slightly bored out of my mind with some down time and I haven’t updated this site since April. I’ll try better next time. Sorry, but I have to have a life. Actually, I have a job that affords minimal life time.

I’m sitting in a Best Western hotel room in Othello, WA. Othello is a dump of town about two hours out of Spokane, WA. Sorry if you’re from Othello, but good GOD, get some culture. This evening I took an adventure and wandered around the white trailer trash neighborhoods that seem to make up this town. I then went in search of a good place to take photos, but everywhere outside the city is private property. The bar (yes, there’s apparently only one) doesn’t serve good beer – though their food was OK, the clientele were playing video poker while attempting to stay sat on the bar stool. The hotel that I’m staying at has a pool and it’s warm enough to take a dip, but sadly, there was nasty leaves, needles, weeds, and some dirt film slithering over the surface. Not appealing. The night life here consists of neon lights illuminating closed buildings, the aforementioned bar, and a 24 hour gas station on the edge of town.

Anyway, so I’m going to wallow in my misery and subject my dwindling blog readers with accounts from a man who never gets bored that is finding himself about ready to go out of his mind. Good day, all!

I’ve been working quite a bit out of town lately and haven’t had time for much of anything, including this site. This coming Tuesday, I’ll be heading to Montana for a two week stretch. I’m looking forward to being able to get some good photos from over there in the off-time that I should hopefully have. I’ll be visiting Billings, Butte, Colstrip, Great Falls and everywhere in between during my trip. I’m excited for the opportunity to see the much-loved big sky country!
