I watched this video, where a statement was made that took me by surprise. They stated that if a person spent a million dollars a day, since the day Jesus was born (year zero), that it would take until now to reach what Congress has spent in the last few months on the various bailout packages.

This seemed so outlandish that I broke out the calculator and as it turns out, that wasn’t entirely true. It would actually take until the year 2192, spending a million dollars a day, to reach the 800 billion dollars that have been spent on bailouts in the last few months. So, it was off by a couple hundred years. By now, you would have only spent about 766 billion dollars!

$1,000,000 x 365 x 2192 =$800,080,000,000.00

I couldn’t resist taking that one step further by using the same exercise to find out how long it would take, spending a million dollars a day since year zero, to equal the current US national debt of 10.8 trillion dollars. I was almost afraid to figure it out and when I started having to go into year 10,000 plus, I really started to get alarmed.

It would take spending a MILLION dollars a DAY for twenty nine thousand six hundred YEARS to spend the 10.8 trillion dollars that is the US national debt. And even that doesn’t quite get us to where it’s at today…rounding off didn’t really make that big a difference from my perspective.

$1,000,000 x 365 x 29600 = $10,804,000,000,000

If that doesn’t put our current situation into perspective for you, I don’t know what will. I think it’s time for me to write a letter to Congress. If this at all concerns you, I would adivse you to do the same.

Earlier this year, I heard some rumblings that Oregon was considering shifting their gas tax to a mileage based tax. The idea is to maintain or increase state road revenue by charging “by the mile” instead of “by the gallon” as a measure to combat fuel usage reductions with more fuel efficient cars on the road. I wrote it off at the time considering the technology to do so would be impractical for quite some time – but it would appear they’re now positioning some leverage against auto manufacturers to support this technology.

As has been the case for years now, going “green” will by no means be a less expensive alternative. We have to pay more for organic foods, shell out more cash for “green” energy, and dish out more for seemingly any “green” option that’s available. It would appear that the systems of taxation are right on top of this…they’ll figure out a way to make you pay, even if you’re using less.

The necessary technology behind the effort is alarming to me. Somehow, fuel providers (and who knows whom else) must “download” data from one’s vehicle to determine how many miles had been driven since the last fuel up. Theoretically, this information could be tied into GPS systems frequently found in today’s vehicles through safety technologies like OnStar, which also concerns me a great deal. This means that interested parties could use this information to determine where your vehicle has been, not just how many miles had been driven.

With every technology, I am always aware of the potential results if such information were hackable, which will always be the case. (If the Pentagon gets successfully hacked, an auto manufacturer has zero chance of a secure system.) A techno-criminal could theoretically access this information and determine where your house was and your regular travel patterns could be assessed for when you were commonly away from home.

Even if we were assured that GPS data would not be tied into the download and that our government or hackers would never receive our personal driving habits, I ask the fundamental question of whether it’s good to have such technology that can track our vehicle usage over any period of time. Why not show the real intent and create a separate (higher) tax for hybrid and fuel-efficient vehicles? The next challenge would be how to determine the difference between a gas guzzling rig vs. a fuel efficient model vehicle. Simply have a different fuel tank mechanism that can tell the pump what kind of vehicle you have. Outfitting fuel tanks and gas pumps to detect fuel efficient cars seems no more difficult than outfitting cars and pumps to be ready to download mileage data – and no personal information needs to be collected.

Anyhow, that’s what I know on this front. Hope you’re feeling better informed!

I’ve been meaning to get the time to comment on Obama’s recent choices for his cabinet appointments. Things are shaping up exactly how I thought they would. The power circle will remain with the reigns of the “haves” that always have.

First, and probably foremost, we can’t ignore the Secretary of State position that has been offered and accepted to none other than Hillary Clinton. While this makes some of those rabid leftist Clintonites happy, I’m sure…this is a very clear throwback to not-so-way back. ‘Nuff said.

Next in the line up, Eric Holder…appointed to Attorney General…who’s history as #2 in the Clinton Justice department is another clear regression back to Clinton era politics. Here we have a guy who advocated the pardoning of Marc Rich, an international commodities trader who was convicted of tax evasion and illegal oil-trading with Iran during the Iranian hostage crisis. A man who clearly respects the law, I’m sure.

Then of course we have Biden’s Chief of Staff, Ronald Klain who served as Al Gore’s Chief of Staff. You starting to see a pattern here yet? Klain also acted as one of Fannie Mae’s political lobbyists. Nothing says “insider” like a reprise act…this “change” is starting to look like margarine vs. bovine growth hormone infused butter.

John Podesta, head of Obama’s presidential transition team, served as Clinton’s chief of staff. Mmmmm…margarine. He’s also the CEO of the liberal think tank American Progress who ignorantly blames Bush for our economic woes, yet also promotes and advocates tax-payer bailouts. Apparently they haven’t done any historical research and they believe that such things actually work.

Oh, and to fill the “change” out even further, we have Rahm Emanuel as Obama’s chief of staff, who conveniently served as one of Clinton’s advisers. Next up, Greg Craig, who formerly represented Clinton in his many legal troubles. We’re also going to see further former Clinton team members in Obama’s cabinet, such as William Daley, Carol Browner and Federico Pena.

It was once said that, “There’s nothing new under the sun. There’s only history you haven’t learned yet.” So true that is.

This map of the county by county election results made it’s way into my inbox tonight. I found it rather shocking, honestly…so much so that I didn’t believe it. Well, I did my research and sure enough, it’s true.

This just goes to show how controlling a few major population centers is all it takes to rule America. Either that or that it doesn’t really take a majority to do so.

It really makes me want to go on some rant about why a republic, not a democracy, is so much better suited for America. Instead, I’ll just let the image do the talking and you can come to your own conclusions.

One of the greatest flaws of the modern American economy is that most Americans don’t understand it. If the people readily understood it, there would be protests in the streets tomorrow.

Tomorrow is not as far off as it seems.

This coming weekend, I will be joining thousands of others across the country in the first ever nationwide organized protest of the Federal Reserve. On November 22nd, at every Federal Reserve branch across the nation, individuals will rally against the fiat reserve currency system and the wealthy demons behind it. Our purpose? To educate and raise awareness to the Federal Reserve – the private entity to which Americans owe trillions of dollars to and those who rule us through money.

You can join us too…End the Fed is coming on 11/22 to a city near you!

If you’re so inclined, check out this recent video from Ron Paul on the results of the recent international central banker meeting. The things that are going on in the financial sectors today are some of the most pressing issues facing us today. I suggest we heed Paul’s advice and admit our mistakes and accept reality as soon as possible.

Click here to view the video!

And here’s the question Paul referred to in the video above.

Click here to view the video!

And on a fantastic note, Ron Paul has not entirely ruled out running for President in 2012. Spread the word!!!! As for me, I hope to be campaigning again for Paul by the middle of next year. With three years to prepare, I think we’d have a serious shot.

It is more out my interest to educate people out there on what I feel are the core issues facing our country. The issue of voter integrity is paramount, for, if we don’t have an election process that can be trusted and verified, the entire process of citizen rule is undermined. This topic is probably too little, too late…considering we just had our election. But, ongoing awareness certainly wouldn’t hurt anything.

I recently spent 36 minutes watching this video. It is, hands down, the best documentary I’ve seen yet on voter fraud issues here in America. This is an excellent way to spend 36 minutes of your life.

I thought I would bring to your attention an article that I recently wrote for a local rag called the Idaho Observer. I have been a subscriber of the IO for a year and a half now and hold it in high regard. When I was presented the opportunity to write an article from my perspective about the Washington State Republican Convention, I was honored by the request. Though it took some work to get the article into a mangeable length, I was rather pleased with the end result. You can check out the article here in it’s entirety – or, for convenience, I have copied the body of the article below.

And of course, here’s a video of the Spokane, Washington Ron Paul march that spontaneously erupted moments after the convention ended.

Click here to view the video!

It wasn’t all that long ago that I found myself in the improbable position of being a key coordinator for Ron Paul’s national delegate effort at the Washington State Republican Convention. I was on the inside, amongst the most trusted, dedicated and capable Ron Paul supporters in the state of Washington. This group was amazing. Like me, they were willing to deny themselves sleep, spend months of man-hours and do whatever it took to give Ron Paul a fighting chance of getting national delegates at the Washington State Republican Convention.

Together, we had planned out almost every possible scenario, locked down hundreds of details and pushed this State Convention well beyond where any had been before. We had a strong delegation – nearly 40%, or about 450 people. We owned the perimeter with a decked out Ron Paul RV command center, a glow-in-the-dark Ron Paul van and hundreds of Ron Paul signs deployed in the surrounding area. We even had our very own Ron Paul bottled water and an awe-inspiring Ron Paul display directly across the street from the convention center. It was a masterpiece of the grassroots. We were ready.

So were they. During an executive session a few days before the convention the Washington State Republican Party (WSRP) illegally passed an executive rule, ultimately ratified by the Washington State Republican delegation, that essentially controlled the ballots and prevented legal voters from fairly electing a large number of national delegate positions.

Undeterred, we hit the convention floor running – we were prepared to challenge the rules, the credentials report, and the order of business – essentially, we intended to lay down an intellectual fight at every level. It was clear early on that this would be no easy battle…and in hindsight, what we wanted never would have happened. The deck was stacked and the other side was willing to break laws to maintain its position.

Despite being outright denied any semblance of fair representative elections, our delegates were able to win 10 national delegate and alternate positions for Ron Paul. But then something unexpected began happening: At the cost of adopting by acclimation a so-called Soviet style “Unity Slate,” the tide began to change. We were then able to utilize core conservative values to break up McCain leadership’s stronghold and methodically cause their delegates to vote against their conservative conscience in the process of Resolutions and Platform. This caused a crisis in the ranks of the party faithful. Leadership had led them to vote against things like right to life and 2nd Amendment rights just to oppose Ron Paul supporters. If we could claim one major victory during this convention, it would be this: Members of the party who believe in the system discovered that it is a closed system, that your voice will be heard and your vote counted only if they are in agreement with leadership.

As we broke for lunch, there was a definite shift in the attitude among many McCain supporters. It was as if we were no longer the enemy. McCain campaign strategists on the floor were sensing the shift and made a deal with us. They agreed to make no attempt to block our resolutions so long as we did not resolve to withdraw from Iraq. They warned that they would leave the convention and deny us a quorum if we brought up our war resolutions.

Just two hours before the end of the convention, the John McCain leadership began instructing their delegates to leave the convention floor when we resolved to oppose Real ID. Delegation chairmen and McCain leaders, like sheep in the fold, followed orders and began evacuating their willing delegates. Hundreds upon hundreds of delegates sheepishly stepped out of the room. Their plan was to deny the Ron Paul delegates a quorum (a majority) and consequently end the convention right there.

What the McCain camp hadn’t anticipated was that our previous methods had worked. Those who remained, all 700+ of them, established a quorum…we had won over the hearts and minds of the majority. What time we had was only able to be used for passing a resolution that requires the WSRP to officially observe the Constitution when declaring war, thereby requiring an official declaration by Congress. We were about five minutes away from approving a motion to extend the convention until all business had been completed when the McCain people started filing back in and diluted our 2/3 majority. Nonetheless, we had accomplished our goal all along – to cause McCain delegates to question their leadership, realize their hypocrisy and rethink everything they had been told about Ron Paul and his supporters.

In conclusion, the most important thing we accomplished was a political education for hundreds of new people in the state of Washington. I can only pray that these individuals, further resolved by their treatment at the convention, realize the imminent need to further the Ron Paul Revolution, with or without Ron Paul. This is the only hope we have for regaining control over our country and avoiding tyrannical big brother government, bent on keeping us in a prison without bars.

I wish I coulda been there…this energy is just fantastic.

The last year and a half of my life has brought about great transformation. Where I used to be a philosophical pessimist bent on arm-chair quarterbacking an ineffective bitch fest, I am now a decided and battle tested foe in the war against American civil liberties, personal privacy and individual freedom. What brought about this change?

Ron Paul.

It was with mixed emotion that I learned of the Ron Paul presidential campaign coming to an official end. On one hand, I have invested so much of my time, blood, sweat and tears as a grassroots activist for his bid for Presidency, and I’m wondering what I can do now that it’s clear that America has made two bad choices. On the other hand, though, I realized quite some time ago that mainstream America was not READY for Ron Paul and that this effort was more about the message than the man or a Presidential seat. It is an effort to steer America off this path of certain financial ruin, to preserve the original intent of our country and to stave off hundreds of powerful elitists that want as much control over mankind as possible.

I have been concerned for some time that this movement of freedom fighters inspired by Ron Paul would fracture into thousands of pieces and eventually and irrevocably be lost until the next great conservative comes along. I was hoping that Ron Paul would steer us in a right direction – a channel to funnel our energy into effectual change based around the principles we love and cherish. Freedom. Peace. Prosperity.

As I have frequently found the case, he and I share consistent concerns. I am happy to announce that Dr. Paul has done it right, yet again. He has announced phase two of his campaign – a much broader and
longer term project – the Campaign for Liberty. Essentially, it is an advocacy group to educate and inform the public, promote our common principles and insure the retention of this amazing network of some of the smartest people in America. There is no doubt there’s something amazing about this group – within 24 hours of the announcement of this new phase, almost 42,000 supporters have joined the new campaign and it’s growing by the minute. These are numbers that can seriously change things, especially if they are a group that is paying attention, dedicated to the cause, and can focus their energy on the same things at the same time.

If you haven’t done so all ready, please consider joining the campaign. As always, keep learning.

Here’s the official announcement from Ron Paul:

I also have a bad habit of writing long posts – many of which I start and inevitably do not finish for one reason or another.

One of these days, maybe some time next month, I’m going to write a memoir post about the primary use of free time for the last six months. I have a thousand things to say, but this music video pretty much sums it up for me. I’m attending the Washington State Republican Convention next week as an elected delegate, as well as assisting the coordination of the statewide Ron Paul faction, and this perfectly timed tune is my anthem.

I did something today that I’ve never done before in my life. I donated money to a presidential campaign – specifically, Ron Paul’s 2008 campaign. It was a piece of cake, I feel good about it and for a moment, I was recognized world-wide for it.

Ron Paul’s campaign website provides instant feedback for those who donate to their campaign – names scroll across a graphic, showing the most recent people who have donated. I wondered if these names were real people…there were so many that I’d seen over the last few weeks since they introduced it. Well, I’ve got absolute confirmation it’s real. Within seconds of my donation, my name graced the graphic for several minutes…I liked it. It was fun, encouraging and best of all…personalized. What a great personal touch for the rather “mundane” act of giving money to a politician?

As of my donation to this writing (about ten hours), the total has gone from $539,617 to $588,448…yeah!! How about over half a million in ten days? RP supporters – you ROCK! Let’s keep it going!

If you haven’t heard, Ron Paul is shooting to raise over $12 million dollars by December 31st. If you also weren’t aware, Ron Paul recently raised over $5 million dollars for his campaign, surpassing the relatively dismal efforts of almost all the other candidates. His message is being spread by thousands of grassroots supporters in a blinding effort to raise awareness to the great things he could do for our nation. Where Ron Paul has held the title of internet superstar, the people that believe in him are insuring that it goes well beyond just that…we’re putting real dollars in the bank, and we’re hittin’ the streets making sure you’ve heard about him. We’re gonna make sure he’s the GOP candidate. We’re not just talking Ron Paul revolution, we’re walking it.

Why?

A lot of us Americans have had this uneasy feeling about the direction our country has taken. This is not a new feeling – it’s been gradually building over the course of many Presidential terms. We’ve bounced between neo-con and neo-liberal factions for a couple decades now and the “massiveness of scale” of our ever-increasing government is finally being recognized as a huge financial liability. As our national debt hovers just under $10 trillion dollars and inflation pushes our cost of living higher and higher, a lot of us are wondering how we could ever pay that down…especially if we continue to overspend, decade after decade. Many of us are growingly concerned over dependence on foreign money…concerned because it has implications that affect our nation’s sovereignty.

Bush & Congress have really screwed up our country. In so much as the Patriot Act, the military tribunals, the Real ID act, prisoner torture, the North American Union and other laws that have all but chipped our Constitutional freedoms to dust, we’re just not the same nation as we once were. I personally know an American on the “no fly list” and they’re neither a criminal or a terrorist. My friends have died because of this war. These were irrational acts of fear, perhaps acts of purpose, not determinate acts of protection.

As far as I am concerned, there’s one item in Ron Paul’s campaign that really stands out…and it’s what has inspired me to not just vote for Ron Paul, but to be one of those grassroots activists that insists he get into office. “Stop the national ID card.” Sure, I support the idea of limited government, ending the IRS, getting out of Iraq now, international non-intervention, stopping deficit spending – but the whole Real ID national drivers license is a really bad thing for America. My blood boils when I think about having to accept a microchipped driver’s license in 2009. If we’re to be a free nation, we cannot allow government to track our every move through RFID tracking chips found in our driver’s licenses. I tell you now – that IS what the Real ID will do. Ron Paul’s committed to stopping it…Hillary, Obama, Giuliani…pretty sure they’re for it.

If any of this concerns you, well, there’s finally something you can do about it.

Help Ron Paul help US…donate today. It’s fun, you’ll be famous for a moment and you’ll be participating in what could be the most important fight for freedom ever waged in America. Even if it’s $25…with Paul’s frugality, he’ll make that go a long way.

In light of my hypocrisy, I’m gonna go a little nutz with the videos here. I particularly liked these videos as they’re an excellent introduction to Ron Paul’s views and political strategies.

Now, for a moment, I want you to pretend that there are no political affiliations and also pretend that you don’t have to vote for the media anointed idiots, such as Hillary, Giuliani, and Obama. For just a second, let’s pretend that the most pressing issues facing our country are not a woman’s right to choose, the death penalty, and faux religious affiliation. Let’s look at this coming election from the big picture.

Where are we at? If you’re paying attention, you might have noticed that a National ID card, designed to track our every move, is being shoved down our throats in 2009. We’re being lead into a surveillance-laden police state, hell bent on destroying our civil liberties and freedom, all in the name of perceived (not actual) safety. We’re fighting a war, ultimately for oil, at an astronomical cost that can neither be maintained nor actually provide us a modicum of national safety. Our financial outlook is bleak with nearly 9 TRILLION dollars of debt and rampant inflation that destroys the middle class and poor’s purchasing power. We have an illegal IRS system that literally destroys people’s lives, all to support a massive government machine, that garners anywhere from 30 to 60 percent of our incomes, month in, month out. Our dismal educational system suffers from continual cutbacks as we shuffle our dollars towards failed foreign policies, petroleum superiority and policing the world in a failed effort to make the world “safe” for Democracy. We’re in a pretty bad way…but there’s hope for America…Ron Paul is running for President in 2008.

With the primaries just around the corner, time is running short for Ron Paul’s ever-growing base of patriots and lovers of liberty to fight like hell with their grass-roots campaigns to get you, the average American, to open up their eyes and see things how they are. With all the political “enemies of the state” that want to continue trodding down this path of reckless abandon and financial ruin, there’s never been a more important time to think outside the party lines and base our decision, not on has-been Republican/Democrat ideologies, but rather what is most important for our nation.

So, with that said, I present you with the core views of the beloved Ron Paul. Remember, forget everything you thought you knew about politics and let the man talk to you with a common sense that is all together foreign in this day and age.

First, we have Dr. Ron Paul discussing the success of his internet media campaign, quite possibly the first time an election has utilized the tools of the web, on a large scale, as a primary means of reaching out to the American people:

Click here to view the video!

Next up, a two-fold view on the American economy, representing Dr. Paul’s critical foundation towards financial stability and preserving the (currently falling) value of the American dollar. The first shows his views on American fiscal policy and the second, relating to what we can all get behind – the abolishment of the IRS. If you’re wondering how on earth we can abolish IRS, you need to understand the difference between direct taxation and indirect taxation. Our country can actually survive on indirect taxation alone – that’s how taxation in America began and there was never an intention of going to an direct taxation system, such as the IRS like we have today. Watch the late Aaron Russo’s America: From Freedom to Fascism for more information about this.

Click here to view the video!

Click here to view the video!

As the only physician that’s running for President, Dr. Paul has some refreshing views on how to handle our failing, corporate-run healthcare system. The gamut of healthcare is not just between socialized medicine or privatized, for-profit corporate-moguls who’s interest is reaping every dollar they can out of American wallets.

Click here to view the video!

Then there’s the billions of dollars that we waste, every year, on failed entitlement systems. You need to wake up and realize that you are not ENTITLED to anything other than life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. With those freedoms alone, we will take care of our own because we LOVE and because we can afford it, not because a government insists on robbing Peter to pay Paul. If everyone has a lower level of taxation and we follow Dr. Paul’s healthcare plans, we’ll be able to provide for our own. He wouldn’t strip programs for the disabled and other critical programs – but the abuse of our current entitlement systems are a huge financial burden for the poor and middle class.

Click here to view the video!

Then, of course, there my hot-button topic…the erosion of American freedom and the battle we’re waging RIGHT NOW to preserve our civil liberties. It seems that Dr. Paul is the only candidate wise enough to see the importance of civil liberty and certainly the only one that makes freedom the core of their campaign.

Click here to view the video!

And you can’t go without discussing gun rights. Gun rights were never established so we could “pop a cap in your ass” or wage gun-battles in America’s schools. Just because there are violators of law (which there always are and always will be, people), doesn’t mean we should disarm the American people. Frankly, if more people had guns, there would be LESS crime…we can’t rely on police that are MINUTES away to protect us from threats that are happening NOW. Not just that, but a disarmed people opens the door to a totalitarian government with nothing to stop them from throwing any man, woman or child into political prisons, or much worse, the hijacking of what was once a great country for the purpose of wielding great power.

Have you ever had a feeling that you pretty much had an idea of how something works, only to find out what you know is completely false? And sometimes the truth is just so far from where you thought it was that you just have to take a step back and say, “Oh my God.” This happens to me all the time.

I’ve discovered something beyond alarming…the voting process involved in the passage of legislature in America has been severely compromised. Where I thought there was order, there is chaos…where I believed in a modicum of integrity, there is ravaging dishonesty. The House of Representatives is a fraud. Our political leaders have allowed something to be that should never, ever (ever) be allowed. I am nearly on my knees as I’ve witnessed the collapse of America’s political constituency.

You need to watch this video:

Click here to view the video!

This video is out of Texas…but implicates a much larger corruption. If it’s this common with Texas representatives…how could it not be going on anywhere else? It’s clear enough that I really need to know more about this.

I could hardly believe my eyes as CBS casually revealed the shattered reality of our Republic’s representation. I reeled as I realized the enormity of it, a massiveness of consequence that betrays almost every shred of respect I may have had for America’s legislative branch. A thousand colloquial “oh my fucking God’s” can’t even begin to express the detestable antipathy that this makes me feel. I can hardly manage to not string together dozens of sordid expletives and venomous word-spears to communicate my response. Let’s just leave it with a simple, “Damnit.”

How, I ask, can you have justice when there are 8 million laws that we can’t even confidently believe were actually voted in legitimately ? And to the lady that was complaining about not having bathroom breaks? Vote for some (we’ll understand, really…) and actually push the damn voting buttons for yourself. I simply don’t trust politicians (or anyone else, for that matter) to leave aside ulterior motives and honestly represent any other…not when there’s so much at stake.

I can’t say it enough…Ron Paul needs to be our next President.

In typical O’Reilly style, he ignorantly fumbles historical fact, rudely interrupts an *Honorable* Congressman, squirms like a tickled school girl when he must avoid confirming his guest’s accuracy, disrupts conversation about sensitive topics so they get no coverage and, worst of all, goes so far as to insult a US Congressman. O’Reilly says himself, “We don’t need a history lesson!” God forbid, it might teach him to have a little more respect for those that lead our nation. Bill, you’re not that good.

Ummm…just for anyone that’s not clear on the subject, the CIA did state that Iran was 10 years away from even possibly having a nuclear weapon and found no evidence of such a program in place. Apparently, Fox news has better sources that say the danger is more like 5 years. Who has more authority…the CIA or the “everybody says” that Fox News just conjured up?

Oh, and notice when Dr. Paul brings up that 50% of the suicide attackers are Saudi…O’Reilly wasn’t going to touch that one. Or the Pakistan reference. Subjects broiling with controversy…and a Google search will pretty much lay it all out for you…but O’Reilly won’t pause for you to think about it. Why can’t we talk about it, O’Reilly?

Just for the record, if O’Reilly told me I was living in Oz and treated me like that, I think I’d throw off my microphone, crawl over the desk and strangle the guy on air. I don’t know how his guests stay so composed when he gets like that. Dr. Paul’s a better man than I.

So you can see what happens when Ron Paul is interviewed by a reasonable host, you can view Bill Maher’s new hero here:

Remember…vote Ron Paul for President in 2008…and stop watching Fox News!

You didn’t think things like this were going to happen…but you can now be arrested and tazered by police for simply asking a question.

In utter disgust, I learned of an arrest and brutal treatment of a young man, by police, for redressing grievances to a public politician in a public venue. He was dragged away, against his will, thrown to the ground, handcuffed and then tazered by police. His crime? He asked some questions.

Freedom of speech is gone, America. Freedom to redress grievances is gone, too. Freedom from wrongful arrest has been polluted by a militaristic police state. The protections from tyranny provided by Habeas Corpus are just a faded memory. I get the feeling that most of you don’t really need those freedoms because you’re not doing anything wrong, right? Look around people. Things are wrong, more now than ever.

Don’t believe me? Here it is, straight from YouTube…and oh yeah, that’s kind of a prominent politician in the video. None other than Skull & Bonesman, John Kerry.

Click here to view the video!

Thank God there was a woman who was aware enough to realize what was going on and came to the young man’s defense. That’s like one in a room full of 100. I’d have a complete feeling of disgust if nobody did anything. Especially after the near unanimous round of applause the American people gave just moments before police sent upwards of 800,000 volts through the guy’s body.

From what I understand, there are actually quite a few Americans that believe what happened here was right. I really wish they would go live somewhere else under a more suitable type of government, say Communist. I really just don’t see what was wrong here…a hard question? Has our sense of freedom really been so degraded that we can’t tolerate a question to a public politician in a public venue? The comparison I’ve heard made is that you wouldn’t want someone to come into your house and ask you such questions. Well, one…you’re likely not a public politician living in AMERICA and two, this was a public forum where the public was permitted to ask questions. If not here, then where?

There’s quite a few angles of the incident on YouTube available. Oh, and if you can’t digest any new information without it first being spinned/slanted by the media…you can see they (MSNBC, in this case) are reporting the same evidence and coming to nearly the same conclusion.

Click here to view the video!

Of course, they had to spin the “disruptive behavior” piece, when in fact, had they not interrupted the man, it might have taken a minute or so to ask his three questions. What were his questions? Why, with all the evidence, did you concede the 2004 election so quickly? Are you a member of the skull and bones society? (Fact.) If you’re against going into Iran, why aren’t you calling for Bush’s impeachment before we can enter Iran? All good questions, in my opinion, that the American people should be entitled to know the answers to. Are these questions really enough to be arrested, charged with a crime and sentenced to a criminal record?

What are we going to do about this? Oh, wait…if you get tazered for just asking a goddamn question…what the fuck will they do if we stand up and fight for our rights? Better go back to being sheeple…

I found these videos the other day…for those that watch television, Keith Olbermann might be familiar to you…but for me, a guy that hasn’t really watched TV much in the last decade, he was a new find. Say what you will, but he seems to be relatively informed (for a sports caster) and has a much appreciated command of the vernacular. Rest assured, just ’cause I like this guy all right, doesn’t mean I’ll rush right out and get me a TV antenna…no, online video works just fine for me.

In the first, titled “The Beginning of the End of America,” Keith addresses the Military Commissions Act rather eloquently…his scathing rant is well researched, filled with historical information and accurately portrays what this law actually represents. For people that disagree or think the “anti-terrorism” laws don’t apply to actual Americans, you need to go check out the laws yourself. It’s actually rather frightening to read the words on paper.

Click here to view the video!

In the second, he puts Bill O’Reilly in his place…it’s probably one of the best commentaries I’ve ever seen done on him…I just absolutely love it. In this video, we are clearly shown O’Reilly’s blatant disregard for factual information and accurate reporting…he’s literally willing to misrepresent history in a very shameful manner. Keith also exposes the fact the Fox News has manipulated history by “rewriting” transcripts of O’Reilly’s show after the fact. Though this doesn’t come as any surprise to me, for anyone that might still have the slightest bit of faith in Fox news, it’s your wakeup call.

What do you need to know about American economics? Two words: Federal Reserve.

Whether or not you believe there is a potential for an impending collapse of the American economy, it’s important to understand certain things about economics. With information just beginning to leak about the “housing bubble” crisis, we’re on the brink of a severe economic downturn. A lot of people are going to be wondering how things got so bad…well, there’s a reason…but I’ll be damn if the media doesn’t want you to know about it.

It’s kind of funny…when I hear media puppets talk about the strength of the US economy, I immediately take offense at the mere notion of it. What we have is a falsely created economy…with it’s only strength coming from our tolerance of extreme debt and willingness to enslave future generations to an ever-increasing national debt and subsequent economic slavery. America’s national debt is approaching nine trillion dollars, thanks to fiscally irresponsible politicians, which amounts to roughly the equivalent value of every person’s economic output, vehicle, building, natural resource, and everything else in a single US timezone. Did you know that your portion of that pie is around $30,000?

We hear talk from politicians about “balancing the budget”…or more succinctly put into layman’s terms, to stop going into debt. This is what is commonly known as the federal defecit…it says nothing about paying off the federal debt. A lot of American’s believe we’ve paid off the national debt at one time or another, but I assure you, we’ve been steadily increasing debt since this country started. What you’ve likely heard is the balancing of the defecit…and that’s seen only rare, fleeting moments in our history. The problem with the debt began to get out of control with our third economic system in the US, the central banking system called the Federal Reserve. The problem has been exacerbated by financially corrupt politicians that fully believe money grows on trees. This is what our debt trend actually looks like for the last sixty-five years, corrected for inflation using year 2000 dollar values (ummmm, yeah, those numbers on the y-axis are TRILLIONS of dollars):

Now, you need to know that the Federal Reserve is no more federal than Federal Express. (Doublespeak, anyone?) It’s a corporation, a bank to be precise, and it’s not run by elected officials…but rather, very wealthy elite. The relationship of how our government interacts with the Federal Reserve in the process of creating money is a bit outside of the scope of this post, but suffice it to say, the creation of almost every dollar incurs another dollar towards the national debt. In the end, where our previous economic systems were plagued by inflation…with the Federal Reserve, we now incur both inflation AND a rising debt that must be paid back. Some say that’s the price of having a stable economy…but eventually, if not properly managed, the latter will become increasingly instable.

I’ll ask you some simple questions…what happens, if you personally, incur much more debt that you are able to reasonably pay off? The people that lent you the money will eventually want to be paid back, right? If you’ve exceeded your ability to pay, what risks are you taking? If you’re unable to pay off your debt, what is your financial future? Where does all your money go and how will you manage to live? Debt is not a freedom…it is the acceptance of financial dependence.

Now, put that into the context of a country. What’s our economic future if we continue to overspend well over $1 billion dollars PER DAY? Will lowering the interest rates help? No, that just reduces our ability to pay back the national debt as we’re inclined to borrow more money. Will raising tax rates help? Well, if we all accept a 75%+ tax rate, sure…but then, what does that do to the economic viability of each one of us?

Another interesting question is: Who do we owe this money called the “national debt” to? Well, without going into bonds and other technical aspects of monetary expansion, it’s graphically explained here. Note the two largest slices of the pie – the Federal Reserve and “Foreign and International.” The latter worries me…this means that we are financially dependent on foreign interests. You’ve probably heard that “China owns everything” or some simple concept like that on the news…well, now you can put two and two together. Oh, and remember what I said earlier about the Federal Reserve being a corporation? Yep, all that interest and profit goes to the benefit of wealthy, private individuals.

So, what to do about it? Is there anything you can do about it? Frankly, likely not…except for kicking a vote in 2008 for Ron Paul. Instead, what I’ve done, is to implement the gold and silver standard into my financial life. It seems to be a much more stable investment than other potentially disastrous stocks, bonds and other artificial money schemes. The paper commodities for silver and gold are increasingly volatile, with excessive trading that far outweighs actual supply. And it’s hella fun and gratifying to be involved in physical precious metals. No longer is the value of my savings compromised by inflationary rates and irresponsible financial management. I’d encourage you to do the same…some day, you’ll thank me for it.

Watch this video from Ron Paul, one of the few Congressmen to “tell it how it is” in the entire body of Congress:

For a goldmine resource (bad pun intended) you should check out the Gold Is Money forums. You can find varying degrees of opinion about our economy and solid financial advice, all for free. If you’re interested in finding out just how deep the rabbit hole goes when it comes to the Federal Reserve, you should read the following books: The Secret World of Money by Andrew Gauze and The Creature from Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin. Both are excellent books.

For the lazy those that don’t have patience for dry books, you really need to watch America: From Freedom to Fascism. You can also rent it from NetFlix or other online video place. In my opinion, it’s worth every penny of the purchase price, too.

For some time now, America has been stuck in the left/right political paradigm we call by names such as “conservative” and “liberal” or “Democrat” and “Republican.” Many are so biased in these restrictive mentalities that they fail to see the larger issue – the hegemony created by such a paradigm allows the perception of “political revolution” when the vote of the people commands a political shift. There is little doubt that this coming Presidential election will follow the same perceived revolution. If one understands the term “revolution” properly, you will understand when I say that we will end up right where we began, or more appropriately, where we are now and where we are going.

When one studies this paradigm and reviews the actions of political leaders from both sides of the fence, you find that the traditional concepts of liberalism or conservatism commonly manifest themselves quite differently than expected across both parties. This is heavily prevalent in the neoconservative/neoliberal factions that many Americans do not fully understand, but want to believe uphold their traditional values. To cite a brief example, we have neoliberals ushering in rampant corporatism that destroys the environment and the conservatives permitting excessive monetary expansion and ever increasing national debt. What was once black is now grey and what was white is now grey. We have seen the breakdown of the traditional measurements of conservatism or liberalism, and point in fact; there are so many “common denominators” that are creating what I’ve perceived to be a hegemonic single-party state.

Stuck in a political paradigm that’s been sold to us since birth, we’re still accepting the media manipulation and people pleaser buzzwords as the promise for society. Well, I don’t, but chances are, you probably do.

We all know that what political leaders tell us during their election campaigns has little or nothing to do with what they will actually do when in office. Remember, these people are trying to appeal to as many people as possible; therefore they will “support” the sides that they believe will provide them the best chance of election. When it’s convenient to support something, they will do so…but as soon as that stance interferes with their election, we see our political leaders shuffling their ideologies to garner public support. I could cite hundreds of examples, but I think the people instinctively know this.

As President Bush’s approval numbers reach all time lows and the public lacks revere for the direction our country has taken, the “buzz” is all about the political revolution swinging back into leftist control. In recent elections, we have seen an overwhelming dominance of the Democratic Party as people cling to the idea that liberals will bring about “radical change” that will realign our nation. My statement to the world is that the “popular” Democratic hopefuls don’t have this kind of “radical change” in mind.

What we must understand, whether Republican, Democrat, Independant or whatever…there is a serious drive from neo-brand Republicrats to further corporate power, sell the people into financial slavery and otherwise threaten our sovereignty and well-being as a nation. We are headed towards a surveillance laden, fascist police state that will utterly destroy our freedom and civil liberties. For those that may not be looking at this in the right perspective, a police state and freedom are directly contradictory unless you’re thoroughly immersed in double think. This burgeoning police state is being implemented in the response to “terrorism” and other growing domestic threats, though one must logically ask…how does restricting American freedom result in less risk of international terrorism? Not just that, but if “terrorists hate our freedom,” giving it up means we’re letting “them” win.

It’s time we return to our Constitution, the document that made the U.S.A. great. At a time, we were a beacon for hope and promise. Now we’re a beacon for dominance and invasion, both foreign and domestic. The people of America are great people, but our leaders have gotten out of control. It is up to us, the people that created government, to realize our situation and become informed. From there, we must talk, network and organize to determine the best way we can rein in our government. It’s a tough road but the great leaders of 200 years ago saw it best: a limited government, minimum invasion, proper financial management and overall *freedom* that permits the people to decide what is best. The right to peaceably assemble, talk and think and then take action. We need to return to a government where the people lead, not corporations and politicians with a list of conflicts of interest a mile long.

Once we do this, we will again remember what is important. Freedom is responsibility.

I’m so behind on my personal blog it’s not even funny. A million things to talk about and not enough time to type. If any multi-millionaire philanthropists are reading, I could really use some support. I’m not in financial ruin – but it would be nice to have my research and interests financed so I could spend less time working and more time informing myself and others. Seriously…I’m not interested in donations, I want full on support so I can read, write and pursue my quest.

So, with that said, I have mixed news to present. It’s stale news for me (about a month old) but probably fresh for most that don’t keep up on current events. The Fed has “graciously” extended the deadline for the implementation of the Real ID Act of 2005 that effectively creates a national identification that will replace our driver’s license. To find out more about Real ID, read my previous post on the subject. The new deadline for states to comply is May 2009 – a year extension from it’s original due date. It was moved due to the fact that the Fed took their sweet little time defining the technology that will be present in Real ID and essentially gave the states NO time to implement it.

On the other side of the fence, where I’ve firmly planted my flag, more states have joined the opposition to Real ID. Starting with Maine, five states have announced opposition to Real ID including Idaho, Arkansas, Montana and most recently, my home state of Washington. Despite Congress nearly unanimously ushering in the legislation, right thinking activists and sensible governors have assured this to be a most difficult sell into reality. It won’t stop there – believe me, we must remain vigilant and alert to the the developing situation because we need to tell the WORLD, with an overwhelming majority, that we’re not down for tracking chips, surveillance and privacy invasion. Get informed, tell your friends & loved ones and let’s make sure this doesn’t go down.

As a resident of Washington, I’ve been paying attention to my state’s reaction to Real ID. I was pleased to see the rejection of the Act, but was disappointed that it will only reject it unless the Fed ponies up the cash and addresses specific privacy concerns prior to implementation. I was hoping they would “just say no,” but I guess it’s a step. The news conflicts with some other info I found where I discovered that Washington had fast-tracked much of the identification measures, including RFID usage, into their new licences. They’ve stated that the RFID tracking chip will be “optional” for Washington residents and that you can refuse if you’re informed enough to. It seems to me they’re saying “no” now, yet are laying the foundation for compulsory RFID compliance and a likely Real ID compliance once we get attacked again.

Speaking of getting attacked again, I’m pretty serious about this microchip thing. Now, just for a frame of reference, I fully intend to kill anyone that tries to implant me with a microchip. I also firmly believe there are a lot of Americans that think on similar terms. There is something about it – a line drawn in the sand, if you will – that extends well beyond a significant number of American’s comfort level of what their government should know about them. For a lot of these people, I believe the advance is significant enough that it could stir a civil war. Even under the guise of a terrorist attack, I STILL believe American’s will resist this. I would also like to believe they would resist the conditioning that will ultimately lead up to it.

I recognize that the Real ID is not a body implanted device…but then again, it’s not very far from it. I see it as the stepping stone – the necessary conditioning – to get people to ultimately accept implanted microchips. Not to mention, driver’s licenses (RFID chips) are compulsory to have on your person while driving, such that when one goes most anywhere, they will have their tracking chip on their person. Not just that, but the technology removes any sense of privacy; especially as it matures and RFID readers become more accurate at further distances. Your every movement could be tracked, stored and potentially recalled at any given time. At a fundamental level, it goes against what I believe is right in the world and gives in to a tyrannical rule of control by fear. Something in the core of my being just gets tweaked when I think about “Big Brother” and RFID scanners as common as security cameras.

In the end, I am seeing that people are resisting this so kudos to those who have done something. For those who haven’t, please think about it and if you oppose it, make your voice heard because it really is important. If you’re for RFID tracking and implantable microchips, do yourself a favor and move to Europe…you’re swimming in a pool of rattlesnakes and you’re bound to get bit.

I often overlook this blog as a means to communicate my every day thoughts about what’s going on in the world. This is a blog – a means of communicating – and dammit, it’s mine and I can say whatever I want. I am just up to my ears in frustration with this Iraq war and the ridiculously soaring rise of gas prices. Am I alone here??????? I certainly think not. Are you people waking up and realizing what’s going on?

I don’t identify with either Republican or Democrat parties, liberal or conservative bias, and my thoughts engender extremes from Fabian socialism to outright Anarchy. Truth is, I don’t care who got us into this mess, the blood is on all our hands – equally upon me and everyone who lives in the nation. Unlike the terrorists – whom can be denounced as radicals, insane, or evil – we have intentionally and consciously brought so much death and destruction in retaliation based on decidedly false facts. This should be cause for riots, protests, and absolute upheaval of our current leadership. We’re going to be lied to and deceived from the truth no matter who is in office or what spin the media takes, and we don’t care because we’re so insulated from having to care with our TV, sports, jobs, and many other distractions.

Why can’t we know everything that happened on Sept. 11th? Where are the surveillance tapes? What about the eye witnesses that claim some alarming details about that day? What about the people who aren’t satisfied with the Sept. 11th commission’s answers – and why was our government so uptight about an investigation in the first place? Why did we really go to war if not for WMD’s – is anyone at all suspicious that ten years ago we were at this same war when our president’s father was in office? All they needed was a reason. Is everybody just freakin’ numb and too busy with their distractions to ask tough questions? So many people are just towing the line without a critical thought in their head, you freakin “Support Our Troops” ribbon perpetrating idiots. I support the troops coming home, safe, yesterday, and support nothing about this Unconstitutional war.

By stirring this pot, are we really making the world safe or are we putting ourselves in more danger? Could it be that opposition to the US has risen over years, and could possibly have something to do with our foreign policy, past and present? Can a war on “anyone against us” be healthy, sustainable, or fundamentally right? The questions keep coming, the answers rarely come.

I learned in school that one of the steadfast rules of economic behavior is the law of supply and demand. Less supply and high demand equals high prices – while much supply with low demand induces low prices. Concept understood. So just WTF is going on when a hurricane hits one day and gas prices soar as much as 30 percent in one day? The effects have not been measured at that point – the prices rise due to “perceived” supply issues and perceived demand. Our price at the pump is wholly determined by what stock brokers “think” may happen – and we’re ripped off as much as $50 or more a month times tens of millions because of it. Who’s ultimately profiting from this rise, why exactly have costs risen, and whom ultimately holds their hand over these decisions? Few know the answers to those questions and I encourage you to find out. To give you a hint, they’re not elected, they don’t have our best interests in mind, and they have enough money to buy our “democratic” country’s decisions.

Not only that, but we have been told that previous rises in gasoline prices (upwards of 300 percent since the early 90′s – standard inflation is 3-4 percent per annum) are due to instabilities in the middle east. Who created this instability? Who bombed the F*** out of two major oil producing nations, invaded their country and ripped apart their lives, and has been responsible for tens (maybe hundreds) of thousands of deaths? Why was this done if not for one of the most important issues facing the US? Weapons of mass destruction??? Nope. Terrorism? Nope. Saddam Hussein? No. For the benefit of Afghani and Iraq people? Ummm, no. We would rather pay our farmers to not produce food than to share the burden of world hunger. The reason is ultimately to install a favorable government that will be oil & US friendly – something the US has been doing (and we’ve been tolerating) for dozens of years now. We know this happens – history has been exposed and we know, but we’re not paying attention.

Anyway, thanks for this long rant…
