It’s a good thing I didn’t tell anyone about that New Year’s resolution that I wanted to blog more. Bang up job so far! Dang, it’s almost February and I haven’t even wished my one or two viewers a happy New Year!

So, I’m inspired today because of a video I watched over lunch. Now that our country is swinging back to left, it’s time to vigilantly guard our right to bear arms. Rumors are a flying about gun bans and so forth and I thought I’d put a subtle reminder out there about why we have such rights to begin with.

This video is case in point why we will NEVER surrender them in this country.

Click here to view the video!

I also wanted to put my 2 cents in about the Obama thing now that he’s our President and all. I haven’t quite gotten on board yet, but I must say that I appreciated his inaugural speech. Of course, the words “LIE” and “You’ll never be able to do that” were coming to my head far too frequently while watching…but nonetheless, I listened and I want to believe the speech.

SOOOOOOO…for those of you who didn’t get it, what he’s telling us is that it’s up to US to do what he’s talking about. He didn’t say, “Go back to your homes, watch your TV and let me take care of it.” He said we need to ACT and I fully agree with him.

So all your Democrats and koolaid drinkin’ Republicans out there…let’s particpate in this Republic again. Get educated. Write a letter to Congress. Join an activist group. Start a cause. Do something. I say that as much for myself as I do any others that might come across this. Let’s hold him to the fire!

You want to end the wars? Make it known. You want sound monetary policies because you see our nation spiraling into debt? Demand it. You want to keep every firearm in your arsenal? Defend them. You want end the corporate bailouts? Protest them.

If WE don’t, WHO will???? Not the politicians, I can guarantee you that.

Out.

Barry Cooper, former Texas police officer, has made it his mission to expose the heavy handed tactics that police are using these days to fight the war on drugs. There are quite a few cops that have seen the light and now oppose the incendiary and ineffective war on drugs.

It was fantastic. They rented a house and set up a couple of Christmas trees under high powered lights, similar to those used in a marijuana grow operation. And then they waited. Sure enough, 24 hours later, the cops came busting in the door – only to find benign Christmas trees and a lawyer waiting for their arrival.

One question. Where’s the probable cause??????

I can pretty confidently say that pine trees and marijuana do not smell at all similar. Obviously if a cop had *seen* the plants, he would have rightly come to the conclusion that they do not look similar either. Interestingly enough, the Austin cops are refusing to release the search affidavit – which, in this case, is clearly full of lies and false statements. Just to be clear, lying to get a judge to sign a search warrant is highly illegal and is very dangerous to a free society.

Click here to view the video!

For those that know me, you know that I support the libertarian viewpoint on drug legalization. I say legalize ‘em all. The argument is very simple and has three major points.

First, for over 30 years, the war on drugs has done very little to actually reduce the amount of drugs on the streets. Instead, it has caused prices to rise, further increasing the alure for young kids and law-dodging entrepreneurs to make huge sums of money. The underlying effect has been to actually increase supply. It’s been proven over and over, especially during the times of prohibition, that when a “popular” thing is made illegal, it does not go away and it concentrates the activity into less-than-desirable underground movements.

The second is that legalization would do nothing to increase usage. I ask every pro-drug-war proponent this question: “If drugs were legalized tomorrow, would YOU go out and start dropping heroin and meth?” The answer is by and large no, and that truth stands for me as well. Those who will experiment will experiment, regardless of what the law says. The difference is that legalization would bring things out in the open, where dangers could be warned against at the time of sale.

The fundamental argument is whether we are allowed to put whatever we want into our bodies, so long as it does not harm others. The problem of addiction is a health matter, not a criminal one. Causing harm to others is all ready against the law – so things like hurting another person or driving under the influence are illegal regardless of the status of drug legalization.

In conclusion, I give my props to Barry Cooper and his group KopBusters for performing this little stunt. The trap they laid was awesome and will hopefully go a long way to expose the police, judges and other parties that were involved in this.

We must remain vigilantly on guard against being tossed down the path of being a "homegrown terrorist." Even if you're a nun.

Are you on the terrorist list? Think you’re not doing anything wrong and so you have nothing to worry about? Well, as us watchdogs have been telling you for years, you don’t have to be doing anything wrong to be labeled as a terrorist in America these days.

I read this article from the LA Times this morning and it just further confirms that we must remain vigilantly on guard against being tossed down the path of being a “homegrown terrorist.” Even if you’re a nun.

Spying on pacifists, environmentalists and nuns

Reporting from Takoma Park, Md. — To friends in the protest movement, Lucy was an eager 20-something who attended their events and sent encouraging e-mails to support their causes.

Only one thing seemed strange.

“At one demonstration, I remember her showing up with a laptop computer and typing away,” said Mike Stark, who helped lead the anti-death-penalty march in Baltimore that day. “We all thought that was odd.”

Not really. The woman was an undercover Maryland State Police trooper who between 2005 and 2007 infiltrated more than two dozen rallies and meetings of nonviolent groups.

Maryland officials now concede that, based on information gathered by “Lucy” and others, state police wrongly listed at least 53 Americans as terrorists in a criminal intelligence database — and shared some information about them with half a dozen state and federal agencies, including the National Security Agency.

Among those labeled as terrorists: two Catholic nuns, a former Democratic congressional candidate, a lifelong pacifist and a registered lobbyist. One suspect’s file warned that she was “involved in puppet making and allows anarchists to utilize her property for meetings.”

“There wasn’t a scintilla of illegal activity” going on, said David Rocah, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, which filed a lawsuit and in July obtained the first surveillance files. State police have released other heavily redacted documents.

Investigators, the files show, targeted groups that advocated against abortion, global warming, nuclear arms, military recruiting in high schools and biodefense research, among other issues.

“It was unconscionable conduct,” said Democratic state Sen. Brian Frosh, who is backing legislation to ban similar spying in Maryland unless the police superintendent can document a “reasonable, articulable suspicion” of criminal activity.

The case is the latest to emerge since the Sept. 11 attacks spurred a sharp increase in state and federal surveillance of Americans. Critics say such investigations violate constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech and assembly, and serve to inhibit lawful dissent.

In the largest known effort, the Pentagon monitored at least 186 lawful protests and meetings — including church services and silent vigils — in California and other states.

The military also compiled more than 2,800 reports on Americans in a database of supposed terrorist threats. That program, known as TALON, was ordered closed in 2007 after it was exposed in news reports.

The Maryland operation also has ended, but critics still question why police spent hundreds of hours spying on Quakers and other peace groups in a state that reported more than 36,000 violent crimes last year.

Stephen Sachs, a former state attorney general, investigated the scandal for Gov. Martin O’Malley — a Democrat elected in 2006. He concluded that state police had violated federal regulations and “significantly overreached.”

According to Sachs’ 93-page report and other documents, state police launched the operation in March 2005 out of concern that the planned execution of a convicted murderer might lead to violent protests.

They sent Lucy to join local activists at Takoma Park’s Electrik Maid, a funky community center popular with punk rockers and slam poets. Ten people attended the gathering, including a local representative from Amnesty International.

“The meeting was primarily concerned with getting people to put up fliers and getting information out to local businesses and churches about the upcoming events,” the undercover officer reported later. “No other pertinent intelligence information was obtained.”

That proved true for all 29 meetings, rallies and protests that Lucy ultimately attended. Most drew only a handful of people, and none involved illegal or disruptive actions.

Using the aliases Lucy Shoup and Lucy McDonald, she befriended activists. “I want to get involved in different causes,” she wrote in an e-mail, citing her interest in “anti-death penalty, antiwar and pro-animal actions!!!”

Max Obuszewski, a Baltimore pacifist who leads antiwar protests, said Lucy asked about civil disobedience, but didn’t instigate any. “She never volunteered to do anything, not even hand out leaflets,” he said. “She was not an agent provocateur.”

Greg Shipley, a state police spokesman, said that no one in the department had been disciplined in connection with the spying program. Lucy, who has not been publicly identified, would not consent to an interview, he said.

The surveillance, Shipley said, was inappropriate. And the listing of lawful activity as terrorism “shouldn’t have happened, and has been corrected.”

Most of the files list terrorism as a “primary crime” and a “secondary crime,” then add subgroups for designations such as antiwar protester.

Some contain errors and inconsistencies that are almost comical.

Nancy Kricorian, 48, a novelist on the terrorist list, is coordinator for the New York City chapter of CodePink, an antiwar group. She serves as liaison with local police for group protests, and has never been arrested.

“I have no idea why I made the list,” she said. “I’ve never been to the state of Maryland, except maybe to stop for gas on the way to Washington.”

Josh Tulkin, 27, a registered lobbyist with the Virginia state Legislature, is cited under “terrorism — environmental extremists.” Tulkin was deputy director of Chesapeake Climate Action Network, an environmental group that claims 15,000 members and regularly meets with governors and members of Congress.

“If asking your elected officials a question about public policy is a crime, then I’m guilty,” he said.

Barry Kissin, 57, a lawyer who ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2006, heads the Frederick Progressive Action Coalition, a group that works “for social, economic and environmental justice,” according to his police file. Their protests “are always peaceful,” it added.

He was labeled “Terrorism — Anti-Government.”

Nadine Bloch, 47, runs workshops for protest groups that seek corporate responsibility and builds huge papier-mache puppets often used in street marches. Her terrorism file indicates she participated in a Taking Action for Animals conference in Washington on July 16-18, 2005.

Animal rights, Bloch said, is one of the few causes she doesn’t actively embrace. Besides, she was attending an educators conference in Hawaii that week as a contractor for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

“This whole thing,” she said, “is so absurd.”

For the last several years, I’ve successfully avoided the insanity of Black Friday by practicing the counter cultural equivalent, Buy Nothing Day. I’ve found great pleasure in avoiding the illicited consumer orgy of obscene spending, crowd herding and pointless gift gathering.

While millions huddled around advertisements and oogled over cheap crap that nobody needs, I didn’t even bother to crack the newspaper. Waking up this morning, I sipped coffee and tooled around with my blog while Americana consumer-bots trampled each other and fought for their right to surrender their hard earned cash to corporate executives. As America heaved their day’s acquisitions into their cars and homes, I took pride that not one new possession entered my home.

I was a little worried this year – there was a chance I might’ve had to buy a thing. But, as it turns out, it’s 8:30PM and I don’t forsee needing to crack the wallet any time in the next several hours.

Some days, it feels good to not do something.

I traveled up to Helena, MT yesterday to attend the "first ever" organized national protest of the Federal Reserve bank.

As I mentioned last week, I traveled up to Helena, MT yesterday to attend the “first ever” organized national protest of the Federal Reserve bank. It was an opportunity to stress our concerns over the ever mounting national debt, the countless corporate bailouts, and other issues facing the economic state of our country today.

I had a great time. About 30 people gathered at it’s high point – not bad considering that many had to travel several hours there and back just to be there. There were dozens of hand made signs – saying everything from “End The Fed” to my sign, which read, “Wake up. You owe THIS bank $35,000.00!” I had several folks comment that they liked my sign and an attending family voted it as “the best.”

Despite our efforts, it wasn’t possible to get local news media down there. Apparently, nothing happens in Helena on Saturday or Sunday…so the news crews just simply don’t come to work that day. Even if it means breaking the biggest story of the last century – “Private federal reserve bank steals trillions from American taxpayers.” Oh, well.

The response from the area was mixed – a large majority looked on in a confused state; looking at our signs and then looking at the bank with the words “Huh?” going through their minds. Some were very supportive…honking and waving at us…some even making a second trip to amplify their support. Then there were the two who apparently didn’t understand what we were protesting and opted to give us the one finger salute. They must’ve thought we were protesting the war or something. We were able to distribute literature to quite a few stopping cars. One of the young & spunky gals was marvelously effective at shoving bags stuffed with good info into closed windows on vehicles. Nonetheless, it was a great opportunity to get the message out and I’m certain that at least some people are better off today because of it.

As for me, I’ll definately be there next year on 11/22. And I hope in the coming year we can rally additional support and get hundreds of folks out there. I’m certain that if the economy stays on it’s current track, by this time next year a LOT of folks are going to be pissed off enough to do something about it.

One of the greatest flaws of the modern American economy is that most Americans don’t understand it. If the people readily understood it, there would be protests in the streets tomorrow.

Tomorrow is not as far off as it seems.

This coming weekend, I will be joining thousands of others across the country in the first ever nationwide organized protest of the Federal Reserve. On November 22nd, at every Federal Reserve branch across the nation, individuals will rally against the fiat reserve currency system and the wealthy demons behind it. Our purpose? To educate and raise awareness to the Federal Reserve – the private entity to which Americans owe trillions of dollars to and those who rule us through money.

You can join us too…End the Fed is coming on 11/22 to a city near you!

If you’re so inclined, check out this recent video from Ron Paul on the results of the recent international central banker meeting. The things that are going on in the financial sectors today are some of the most pressing issues facing us today. I suggest we heed Paul’s advice and admit our mistakes and accept reality as soon as possible.

Click here to view the video!

And here’s the question Paul referred to in the video above.

Click here to view the video!

And on a fantastic note, Ron Paul has not entirely ruled out running for President in 2012. Spread the word!!!! As for me, I hope to be campaigning again for Paul by the middle of next year. With three years to prepare, I think we’d have a serious shot.

It is more out my interest to educate people out there on what I feel are the core issues facing our country. The issue of voter integrity is paramount, for, if we don’t have an election process that can be trusted and verified, the entire process of citizen rule is undermined. This topic is probably too little, too late…considering we just had our election. But, ongoing awareness certainly wouldn’t hurt anything.

I recently spent 36 minutes watching this video. It is, hands down, the best documentary I’ve seen yet on voter fraud issues here in America. This is an excellent way to spend 36 minutes of your life.

I thought I would bring to your attention an article that I recently wrote for a local rag called the Idaho Observer. I have been a subscriber of the IO for a year and a half now and hold it in high regard. When I was presented the opportunity to write an article from my perspective about the Washington State Republican Convention, I was honored by the request. Though it took some work to get the article into a mangeable length, I was rather pleased with the end result. You can check out the article here in it’s entirety – or, for convenience, I have copied the body of the article below.

And of course, here’s a video of the Spokane, Washington Ron Paul march that spontaneously erupted moments after the convention ended.

Click here to view the video!

It wasn’t all that long ago that I found myself in the improbable position of being a key coordinator for Ron Paul’s national delegate effort at the Washington State Republican Convention. I was on the inside, amongst the most trusted, dedicated and capable Ron Paul supporters in the state of Washington. This group was amazing. Like me, they were willing to deny themselves sleep, spend months of man-hours and do whatever it took to give Ron Paul a fighting chance of getting national delegates at the Washington State Republican Convention.

Together, we had planned out almost every possible scenario, locked down hundreds of details and pushed this State Convention well beyond where any had been before. We had a strong delegation – nearly 40%, or about 450 people. We owned the perimeter with a decked out Ron Paul RV command center, a glow-in-the-dark Ron Paul van and hundreds of Ron Paul signs deployed in the surrounding area. We even had our very own Ron Paul bottled water and an awe-inspiring Ron Paul display directly across the street from the convention center. It was a masterpiece of the grassroots. We were ready.

So were they. During an executive session a few days before the convention the Washington State Republican Party (WSRP) illegally passed an executive rule, ultimately ratified by the Washington State Republican delegation, that essentially controlled the ballots and prevented legal voters from fairly electing a large number of national delegate positions.

Undeterred, we hit the convention floor running – we were prepared to challenge the rules, the credentials report, and the order of business – essentially, we intended to lay down an intellectual fight at every level. It was clear early on that this would be no easy battle…and in hindsight, what we wanted never would have happened. The deck was stacked and the other side was willing to break laws to maintain its position.

Despite being outright denied any semblance of fair representative elections, our delegates were able to win 10 national delegate and alternate positions for Ron Paul. But then something unexpected began happening: At the cost of adopting by acclimation a so-called Soviet style “Unity Slate,” the tide began to change. We were then able to utilize core conservative values to break up McCain leadership’s stronghold and methodically cause their delegates to vote against their conservative conscience in the process of Resolutions and Platform. This caused a crisis in the ranks of the party faithful. Leadership had led them to vote against things like right to life and 2nd Amendment rights just to oppose Ron Paul supporters. If we could claim one major victory during this convention, it would be this: Members of the party who believe in the system discovered that it is a closed system, that your voice will be heard and your vote counted only if they are in agreement with leadership.

As we broke for lunch, there was a definite shift in the attitude among many McCain supporters. It was as if we were no longer the enemy. McCain campaign strategists on the floor were sensing the shift and made a deal with us. They agreed to make no attempt to block our resolutions so long as we did not resolve to withdraw from Iraq. They warned that they would leave the convention and deny us a quorum if we brought up our war resolutions.

Just two hours before the end of the convention, the John McCain leadership began instructing their delegates to leave the convention floor when we resolved to oppose Real ID. Delegation chairmen and McCain leaders, like sheep in the fold, followed orders and began evacuating their willing delegates. Hundreds upon hundreds of delegates sheepishly stepped out of the room. Their plan was to deny the Ron Paul delegates a quorum (a majority) and consequently end the convention right there.

What the McCain camp hadn’t anticipated was that our previous methods had worked. Those who remained, all 700+ of them, established a quorum…we had won over the hearts and minds of the majority. What time we had was only able to be used for passing a resolution that requires the WSRP to officially observe the Constitution when declaring war, thereby requiring an official declaration by Congress. We were about five minutes away from approving a motion to extend the convention until all business had been completed when the McCain people started filing back in and diluted our 2/3 majority. Nonetheless, we had accomplished our goal all along – to cause McCain delegates to question their leadership, realize their hypocrisy and rethink everything they had been told about Ron Paul and his supporters.

In conclusion, the most important thing we accomplished was a political education for hundreds of new people in the state of Washington. I can only pray that these individuals, further resolved by their treatment at the convention, realize the imminent need to further the Ron Paul Revolution, with or without Ron Paul. This is the only hope we have for regaining control over our country and avoiding tyrannical big brother government, bent on keeping us in a prison without bars.

It was funny…as I was watching this video, I began to be a little disappointed. I was like, “that’s it?” – over a million votes and “that’s it?” But then the camera man zoomed in on the approaching demonstrators and I did a complete 180. I can’t even imagine what Minneapolis / St. Paul is gonna be like…but this march is on the magnitude of insane.

I wish I coulda been there…this energy is just fantastic.

So, I was cruising the ‘net, getting informed, as I often do…and I found this little gem – a 9/11 truth music video, the first to my knowledge. Gotta say, it’s a little catchy…and considering I mostly detest disco and wish it would just go away forever, it’s been rolling through my head ever since I heard it. You can see my thoughts on the 9/11 truth movement here, if you’re interested.

I also have a bad habit of writing long posts – many of which I start and inevitably do not finish for one reason or another.

One of these days, maybe some time next month, I’m going to write a memoir post about the primary use of free time for the last six months. I have a thousand things to say, but this music video pretty much sums it up for me. I’m attending the Washington State Republican Convention next week as an elected delegate, as well as assisting the coordination of the statewide Ron Paul faction, and this perfectly timed tune is my anthem.

OK, I’ve had enough of reading about people getting tazered by the cops under the most ridiculous of circumstances. Now we have cops killing people with tazers for not speaking English. This needs to stop. This is the third time I’ve had to write about this crap in as many months. (Article one | Article two)

Twenty-four seconds after Canadian police approached Polish immigrant Daniel Dziekanski, police welcomed him to their country by jolting him with a tazer. Minutes later, the man died from the attack. Zofia Cisowski, mother of Daniel, grieves over the loss of her only living family member after spending months saving money to get her son into Canada.

Daniel, seeking a new life in Canada, had spent fifteen hours flying to his new home. As he spoke no English, he had previously arranged to connect with his mother at the airport. He proceeded through post-flight customs and then into a secondary customs check, standard procedure for an immigrant that doesn’t speak English. What happened after that defies explanation.

For ten hours, Dziekanski stayed in the Arrivals Hall trying to connect with his mother. Meanwhile, his mother paced the halls for six hours, trying to locate her son. After repeated attempts by the mother asking airport personnel where her son was, they were unable to locate her son. Eventually, Canadian airport personnel informed Daniel’s mother that he was no longer at the airport. Truth be told, he was probably less than 200 feet away from her. Thanks to nearly impenetrable airport security, the two were unable to see each other and received no assistance from airport security in locating one another.

Daniel, unable to communicate with anyone around him, became increasingly frightened and agitated in the busy Vancouver airport. He became increasingly disoriented and desired only to connect with the familiar, his mother, whom was less than a football field’s length away.

After 10 hours in the airport, police approached Daniel. Exactly what happened in the exchange is not entirely clear, but according to reports, twenty-four seconds after approaching Daniel, the RCMP (police) pulled their tazers in an attempt to disable and handcuff the man. He sustained “a couple shots” from a tazer, lost consciousness moments later and failed to receive medical treatment for at least 12 minutes after the attack. A few minutes later, Daniel died from injuries sustained by the ultra-high voltage tazer gun.

Here’s our security bureaucracy at it’s best – admittedly it’s not in America – but the same kind of thing could happen here just the same. Thanks to zero-tolerance police training and the human immigration process being buried by hundreds of layers of red tape, we have set the stage for killing people, simply because they are unable to speak English. It’s reasonably safe to assume that if the guy could’ve spoken English, the situation would have been quickly diffused, or more likely, never would have occurred.

My heart goes out to Zofia Cisowski, the mother. This never should’ve happened and I grieve for her loss.

What we’re doing here in “the war on terror” is not good. We have to find a better way.

I did something today that I’ve never done before in my life. I donated money to a presidential campaign – specifically, Ron Paul’s 2008 campaign. It was a piece of cake, I feel good about it and for a moment, I was recognized world-wide for it.

Ron Paul’s campaign website provides instant feedback for those who donate to their campaign – names scroll across a graphic, showing the most recent people who have donated. I wondered if these names were real people…there were so many that I’d seen over the last few weeks since they introduced it. Well, I’ve got absolute confirmation it’s real. Within seconds of my donation, my name graced the graphic for several minutes…I liked it. It was fun, encouraging and best of all…personalized. What a great personal touch for the rather “mundane” act of giving money to a politician?

As of my donation to this writing (about ten hours), the total has gone from $539,617 to $588,448…yeah!! How about over half a million in ten days? RP supporters – you ROCK! Let’s keep it going!

If you haven’t heard, Ron Paul is shooting to raise over $12 million dollars by December 31st. If you also weren’t aware, Ron Paul recently raised over $5 million dollars for his campaign, surpassing the relatively dismal efforts of almost all the other candidates. His message is being spread by thousands of grassroots supporters in a blinding effort to raise awareness to the great things he could do for our nation. Where Ron Paul has held the title of internet superstar, the people that believe in him are insuring that it goes well beyond just that…we’re putting real dollars in the bank, and we’re hittin’ the streets making sure you’ve heard about him. We’re gonna make sure he’s the GOP candidate. We’re not just talking Ron Paul revolution, we’re walking it.

Why?

A lot of us Americans have had this uneasy feeling about the direction our country has taken. This is not a new feeling – it’s been gradually building over the course of many Presidential terms. We’ve bounced between neo-con and neo-liberal factions for a couple decades now and the “massiveness of scale” of our ever-increasing government is finally being recognized as a huge financial liability. As our national debt hovers just under $10 trillion dollars and inflation pushes our cost of living higher and higher, a lot of us are wondering how we could ever pay that down…especially if we continue to overspend, decade after decade. Many of us are growingly concerned over dependence on foreign money…concerned because it has implications that affect our nation’s sovereignty.

Bush & Congress have really screwed up our country. In so much as the Patriot Act, the military tribunals, the Real ID act, prisoner torture, the North American Union and other laws that have all but chipped our Constitutional freedoms to dust, we’re just not the same nation as we once were. I personally know an American on the “no fly list” and they’re neither a criminal or a terrorist. My friends have died because of this war. These were irrational acts of fear, perhaps acts of purpose, not determinate acts of protection.

As far as I am concerned, there’s one item in Ron Paul’s campaign that really stands out…and it’s what has inspired me to not just vote for Ron Paul, but to be one of those grassroots activists that insists he get into office. “Stop the national ID card.” Sure, I support the idea of limited government, ending the IRS, getting out of Iraq now, international non-intervention, stopping deficit spending – but the whole Real ID national drivers license is a really bad thing for America. My blood boils when I think about having to accept a microchipped driver’s license in 2009. If we’re to be a free nation, we cannot allow government to track our every move through RFID tracking chips found in our driver’s licenses. I tell you now – that IS what the Real ID will do. Ron Paul’s committed to stopping it…Hillary, Obama, Giuliani…pretty sure they’re for it.

If any of this concerns you, well, there’s finally something you can do about it.

Help Ron Paul help US…donate today. It’s fun, you’ll be famous for a moment and you’ll be participating in what could be the most important fight for freedom ever waged in America. Even if it’s $25…with Paul’s frugality, he’ll make that go a long way.

If you haven’t joined your local Meetup group & you want to make a real difference for America…get started today!

In light of my hypocrisy, I’m gonna go a little nutz with the videos here. I particularly liked these videos as they’re an excellent introduction to Ron Paul’s views and political strategies.

Now, for a moment, I want you to pretend that there are no political affiliations and also pretend that you don’t have to vote for the media anointed idiots, such as Hillary, Giuliani, and Obama. For just a second, let’s pretend that the most pressing issues facing our country are not a woman’s right to choose, the death penalty, and faux religious affiliation. Let’s look at this coming election from the big picture.

Where are we at? If you’re paying attention, you might have noticed that a National ID card, designed to track our every move, is being shoved down our throats in 2009. We’re being lead into a surveillance-laden police state, hell bent on destroying our civil liberties and freedom, all in the name of perceived (not actual) safety. We’re fighting a war, ultimately for oil, at an astronomical cost that can neither be maintained nor actually provide us a modicum of national safety. Our financial outlook is bleak with nearly 9 TRILLION dollars of debt and rampant inflation that destroys the middle class and poor’s purchasing power. We have an illegal IRS system that literally destroys people’s lives, all to support a massive government machine, that garners anywhere from 30 to 60 percent of our incomes, month in, month out. Our dismal educational system suffers from continual cutbacks as we shuffle our dollars towards failed foreign policies, petroleum superiority and policing the world in a failed effort to make the world “safe” for Democracy. We’re in a pretty bad way…but there’s hope for America…Ron Paul is running for President in 2008.

With the primaries just around the corner, time is running short for Ron Paul’s ever-growing base of patriots and lovers of liberty to fight like hell with their grass-roots campaigns to get you, the average American, to open up their eyes and see things how they are. With all the political “enemies of the state” that want to continue trodding down this path of reckless abandon and financial ruin, there’s never been a more important time to think outside the party lines and base our decision, not on has-been Republican/Democrat ideologies, but rather what is most important for our nation.

So, with that said, I present you with the core views of the beloved Ron Paul. Remember, forget everything you thought you knew about politics and let the man talk to you with a common sense that is all together foreign in this day and age.

First, we have Dr. Ron Paul discussing the success of his internet media campaign, quite possibly the first time an election has utilized the tools of the web, on a large scale, as a primary means of reaching out to the American people:

Click here to view the video!

Next up, a two-fold view on the American economy, representing Dr. Paul’s critical foundation towards financial stability and preserving the (currently falling) value of the American dollar. The first shows his views on American fiscal policy and the second, relating to what we can all get behind – the abolishment of the IRS. If you’re wondering how on earth we can abolish IRS, you need to understand the difference between direct taxation and indirect taxation. Our country can actually survive on indirect taxation alone – that’s how taxation in America began and there was never an intention of going to an direct taxation system, such as the IRS like we have today. Watch the late Aaron Russo’s America: From Freedom to Fascism for more information about this.

Click here to view the video!

Click here to view the video!

As the only physician that’s running for President, Dr. Paul has some refreshing views on how to handle our failing, corporate-run healthcare system. The gamut of healthcare is not just between socialized medicine or privatized, for-profit corporate-moguls who’s interest is reaping every dollar they can out of American wallets.

Click here to view the video!

Then there’s the billions of dollars that we waste, every year, on failed entitlement systems. You need to wake up and realize that you are not ENTITLED to anything other than life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. With those freedoms alone, we will take care of our own because we LOVE and because we can afford it, not because a government insists on robbing Peter to pay Paul. If everyone has a lower level of taxation and we follow Dr. Paul’s healthcare plans, we’ll be able to provide for our own. He wouldn’t strip programs for the disabled and other critical programs – but the abuse of our current entitlement systems are a huge financial burden for the poor and middle class.

Click here to view the video!

Then, of course, there my hot-button topic…the erosion of American freedom and the battle we’re waging RIGHT NOW to preserve our civil liberties. It seems that Dr. Paul is the only candidate wise enough to see the importance of civil liberty and certainly the only one that makes freedom the core of their campaign.

Click here to view the video!

And you can’t go without discussing gun rights. Gun rights were never established so we could “pop a cap in your ass” or wage gun-battles in America’s schools. Just because there are violators of law (which there always are and always will be, people), doesn’t mean we should disarm the American people. Frankly, if more people had guns, there would be LESS crime…we can’t rely on police that are MINUTES away to protect us from threats that are happening NOW. Not just that, but a disarmed people opens the door to a totalitarian government with nothing to stop them from throwing any man, woman or child into political prisons, or much worse, the hijacking of what was once a great country for the purpose of wielding great power.

Click here to view the video!

So, there you have it. A Ron Paul video extravaganza! Break free of the political mind-prison that is being constructed for you on the television and other media outlets. Consider out future, for a change…consider your freedom of choice. Reach deep down and find the patriot within you…stand up and fight for liberty. America may never be free again if we don’t fight for it.

Have you ever had a feeling that you pretty much had an idea of how something works, only to find out what you know is completely false? And sometimes the truth is just so far from where you thought it was that you just have to take a step back and say, “Oh my God.” This happens to me all the time.

I’ve discovered something beyond alarming…the voting process involved in the passage of legislature in America has been severely compromised. Where I thought there was order, there is chaos…where I believed in a modicum of integrity, there is ravaging dishonesty. The House of Representatives is a fraud. Our political leaders have allowed something to be that should never, ever (ever) be allowed. I am nearly on my knees as I’ve witnessed the collapse of America’s political constituency.

You need to watch this video:

Click here to view the video!

This video is out of Texas…but implicates a much larger corruption. If it’s this common with Texas representatives…how could it not be going on anywhere else? It’s clear enough that I really need to know more about this.

I could hardly believe my eyes as CBS casually revealed the shattered reality of our Republic’s representation. I reeled as I realized the enormity of it, a massiveness of consequence that betrays almost every shred of respect I may have had for America’s legislative branch. A thousand colloquial “oh my fucking God’s” can’t even begin to express the detestable antipathy that this makes me feel. I can hardly manage to not string together dozens of sordid expletives and venomous word-spears to communicate my response. Let’s just leave it with a simple, “Damnit.”

How, I ask, can you have justice when there are 8 million laws that we can’t even confidently believe were actually voted in legitimately ? And to the lady that was complaining about not having bathroom breaks? Vote for some (we’ll understand, really…) and actually push the damn voting buttons for yourself. I simply don’t trust politicians (or anyone else, for that matter) to leave aside ulterior motives and honestly represent any other…not when there’s so much at stake.

I can’t say it enough…Ron Paul needs to be our next President.

Last month I wrote up an article about a student being tazered by police for simply asking a question. I present you another video showing the exact same kind of abuse of power that we’re seeing today. In this case, we have a student that was using the campus library late at night and had forgotten his student ID card.

This actually happened back in 2006, I believe…but I must’ve missed it. Not watching TV or reading magazines or newpapers & always having to work for your info does have it’s drawbacks. I have to warn you…the video’s a little graphic. Not bloody graphic – just the graphic display of cops, hard at work, abusing their power of authority.

Click here to view the video!

Instead of police just cuffing & bagging to diffuse a situation, which you can’t tell me two or nine cops couldn’t do, we’re seeing rampant abuse of power all over the place. Things like this are extreme cases, but on a much larger scale with much smaller impacts, police are advancing upon us like a professional military. Instead of justice being the goal, we have public displays of outright torture by police for things that aren’t even a crime. Learn to fear, America. That’s what they’re trying to ingrain into your minds.

What angers me about this is the police officer’s unwillingness to identify themselves. They are required, by law, to identify themselves, both as a police officer and a name or badge number when asked. That, and the fact that *while* tazering the guy, they were demanding he stand. I dunno if you’ve ever been tazered, but as someone that’s touched a 110V circuit inadvertently (errr, more than once), I believe the voltage those things put would be more the enough to make it difficult to stand. Police should never give an order while making it completely impossible to follow. That is abuse of power.

It’s almost like basic civil rights are not being taught in police academies these days. Their training is designed to override human decency and patience. The Constitution and ethical behavior is most certainly not being taught. A tazer, which is known to kill people (by the way), is capable of completely disabling a person…and in fact, is what it was designed for. We allow police to have these because A) we believe every problem isn’t best solved with a gun and B) there are situations where disabling a person (e.g. meth-head gone freakin’ bezerk) might be necessary. A person that is willing to leave on their own accord, after realizing the seriousness of the situation, and committed the “crime” of forgetting a piece of identification, does not classify a justifiable use of such non-lethal force, in my opinion.

All this over a forgotten ID, by a student, in a library. (Imagine that…I thought that was a *good* thing?) Sure, he resisted leaving (probably because he wanted to study) and it was escalated into a violent crescendo of tazering, physical roughhousing and impossible demands. Despite even being willing to leave on his own accord…why must police take things to this level? Of course this all erupted from one of those ingenious plans to protect you…a policy of random ID checks after a certain hour in the library…and a hard line stance against any violations. Nothing bad could ever come from such a thing…or could it?

Of course, if you watch COPS every night…you’re nearly immune to seeing abuse of power. Cops that do this kind of thing rightfully earn the disrespectful term of “pig” and honestly, I hope these cops have a special place reserved in hell. That’s all I have to say.

You didn’t think things like this were going to happen…but you can now be arrested and tazered by police for simply asking a question.

In utter disgust, I learned of an arrest and brutal treatment of a young man, by police, for redressing grievances to a public politician in a public venue. He was dragged away, against his will, thrown to the ground, handcuffed and then tazered by police. His crime? He asked some questions.

Freedom of speech is gone, America. Freedom to redress grievances is gone, too. Freedom from wrongful arrest has been polluted by a militaristic police state. The protections from tyranny provided by Habeas Corpus are just a faded memory. I get the feeling that most of you don’t really need those freedoms because you’re not doing anything wrong, right? Look around people. Things are wrong, more now than ever.

Don’t believe me? Here it is, straight from YouTube…and oh yeah, that’s kind of a prominent politician in the video. None other than Skull & Bonesman, John Kerry.

Click here to view the video!

Thank God there was a woman who was aware enough to realize what was going on and came to the young man’s defense. That’s like one in a room full of 100. I’d have a complete feeling of disgust if nobody did anything. Especially after the near unanimous round of applause the American people gave just moments before police sent upwards of 800,000 volts through the guy’s body.

From what I understand, there are actually quite a few Americans that believe what happened here was right. I really wish they would go live somewhere else under a more suitable type of government, say Communist. I really just don’t see what was wrong here…a hard question? Has our sense of freedom really been so degraded that we can’t tolerate a question to a public politician in a public venue? The comparison I’ve heard made is that you wouldn’t want someone to come into your house and ask you such questions. Well, one…you’re likely not a public politician living in AMERICA and two, this was a public forum where the public was permitted to ask questions. If not here, then where?

There’s quite a few angles of the incident on YouTube available. Oh, and if you can’t digest any new information without it first being spinned/slanted by the media…you can see they (MSNBC, in this case) are reporting the same evidence and coming to nearly the same conclusion.

Click here to view the video!

Of course, they had to spin the “disruptive behavior” piece, when in fact, had they not interrupted the man, it might have taken a minute or so to ask his three questions. What were his questions? Why, with all the evidence, did you concede the 2004 election so quickly? Are you a member of the skull and bones society? (Fact.) If you’re against going into Iran, why aren’t you calling for Bush’s impeachment before we can enter Iran? All good questions, in my opinion, that the American people should be entitled to know the answers to. Are these questions really enough to be arrested, charged with a crime and sentenced to a criminal record?

What are we going to do about this? Oh, wait…if you get tazered for just asking a goddamn question…what the fuck will they do if we stand up and fight for our rights? Better go back to being sheeple…

I was recently turned on to the “Idaho Observer,” a monthly rag that reports interesting and critical news that the mainstream fails to provide. After reading an issue, it was quickly apparent that I was the kind of reader for this kind of rag and so it was quickly decided that I would subscribe, if I was able. Well, it was no problem online…and relatively cheap too, compared to the weekly prints like American Free Press. AFP is another great rag, but I just don’t have time to read that plus everything else I read and do…not to mention work and insignificant chores.

At the top of each issue, there’s a boldly printed output of the most recent US national debt figures, and each American’s individual share conveniently calculated for them. (A feature I wish the mainstream dailies would pick up. Not gonna see it anytime soon, that’s for sure…not even on page G-14.) Anyway, the news is probably not for the average mainstream-fed consumer, but for a person with a flare for alternative thought, it’s a straight-up rag that’s paying attention.

Well, to make a long story short…usually a subscription to a rag is not something worthy of reporting on my blog…you’ll note I don’t report about my consumerism…what I have, what I bought and so on…unless it fills a purpose or relates to a specific subject. It’s insignificant in most cases and bores me to death.

With that said, I ordered a two-year subscription, a cheap video and another cheap book…less than $60 total. Don Harkins, the editor of the Idaho Observer, quickly and carefully attended to my package. Not just that, but included in the package was a ton of extra info and un-ordered goodies. I could tell this was a place that operated on a passion, a passion to arm people with information. They went above and beyond and deserve recognition for excellent service and his dedicated cause. It’s rare for me to be overly satisfied…and even more rare to report it on my blog.

May those who know me or stumble across my page know that I recommend that everyone spend $25 for a year’s subscription. May ye be informed and enlightened.

On the other side of the fence, where I've firmly planted my flag, more states have joined the opposition to Real ID.

I’m so behind on my personal blog it’s not even funny. A million things to talk about and not enough time to type. If any multi-millionaire philanthropists are reading, I could really use some support. I’m not in financial ruin – but it would be nice to have my research and interests financed so I could spend less time working and more time informing myself and others. Seriously…I’m not interested in donations, I want full on support so I can read, write and pursue my quest.

So, with that said, I have mixed news to present. It’s stale news for me (about a month old) but probably fresh for most that don’t keep up on current events. The Fed has “graciously” extended the deadline for the implementation of the Real ID Act of 2005 that effectively creates a national identification that will replace our driver’s license. To find out more about Real ID, read my previous post on the subject. The new deadline for states to comply is May 2009 – a year extension from it’s original due date. It was moved due to the fact that the Fed took their sweet little time defining the technology that will be present in Real ID and essentially gave the states NO time to implement it.

On the other side of the fence, where I’ve firmly planted my flag, more states have joined the opposition to Real ID. Starting with Maine, five states have announced opposition to Real ID including Idaho, Arkansas, Montana and most recently, my home state of Washington. Despite Congress nearly unanimously ushering in the legislation, right thinking activists and sensible governors have assured this to be a most difficult sell into reality. It won’t stop there – believe me, we must remain vigilant and alert to the the developing situation because we need to tell the WORLD, with an overwhelming majority, that we’re not down for tracking chips, surveillance and privacy invasion. Get informed, tell your friends & loved ones and let’s make sure this doesn’t go down.

As a resident of Washington, I’ve been paying attention to my state’s reaction to Real ID. I was pleased to see the rejection of the Act, but was disappointed that it will only reject it unless the Fed ponies up the cash and addresses specific privacy concerns prior to implementation. I was hoping they would “just say no,” but I guess it’s a step. The news conflicts with some other info I found where I discovered that Washington had fast-tracked much of the identification measures, including RFID usage, into their new licences. They’ve stated that the RFID tracking chip will be “optional” for Washington residents and that you can refuse if you’re informed enough to. It seems to me they’re saying “no” now, yet are laying the foundation for compulsory RFID compliance and a likely Real ID compliance once we get attacked again.

Speaking of getting attacked again, I’m pretty serious about this microchip thing. Now, just for a frame of reference, I fully intend to kill anyone that tries to implant me with a microchip. I also firmly believe there are a lot of Americans that think on similar terms. There is something about it – a line drawn in the sand, if you will – that extends well beyond a significant number of American’s comfort level of what their government should know about them. For a lot of these people, I believe the advance is significant enough that it could stir a civil war. Even under the guise of a terrorist attack, I STILL believe American’s will resist this. I would also like to believe they would resist the conditioning that will ultimately lead up to it.

I recognize that the Real ID is not a body implanted device…but then again, it’s not very far from it. I see it as the stepping stone – the necessary conditioning – to get people to ultimately accept implanted microchips. Not to mention, driver’s licenses (RFID chips) are compulsory to have on your person while driving, such that when one goes most anywhere, they will have their tracking chip on their person. Not just that, but the technology removes any sense of privacy; especially as it matures and RFID readers become more accurate at further distances. Your every movement could be tracked, stored and potentially recalled at any given time. At a fundamental level, it goes against what I believe is right in the world and gives in to a tyrannical rule of control by fear. Something in the core of my being just gets tweaked when I think about “Big Brother” and RFID scanners as common as security cameras.

In the end, I am seeing that people are resisting this so kudos to those who have done something. For those who haven’t, please think about it and if you oppose it, make your voice heard because it really is important. If you’re for RFID tracking and implantable microchips, do yourself a favor and move to Europe…you’re swimming in a pool of rattlesnakes and you’re bound to get bit.

You can get contact information for Congress quite easily online – and as far as what to say – whatever’s on your mind and is important to you. You don’t really have to be super eloquent, nor lengthy and you can go through the process of writing “old fashioned” letters, or of course, email, if that’s what you prefer. I choose letters because I like to get paper letters in return…for evidence.

You might be saying to yourself, “I don’t have time to write Congress letters…but I still want to be heard. What can I do?” Well, you can still make a difference. There are many websites promoting online petitions where all you have to do is find what you’re interested in and type your name. These websites have revolutionized the way people communicate with their representatives – it allows a large number of people to get behind a single issue; carrying with it the weight of all the signatory parties.

Since I would like to see more people get active and discover their own voice, I thought it might be helpful to share a number of my favorite letters that I have written. I hope this might inspire others to write their Congress in an effort to share their opinion and perhaps affect change. Just as jury duty is a civic duty and responsibility, so is participating in government and exercising your freedom to voice concerns to that government. This is especially true now that more and more critical legislation is handled by the legislators and never sees the light of a ballot.

For those inspired or interested in the good old fashioned letter writing, this will be a four part series: The first will deal with the potential war on Iran. The second has to do with the Federal Reserve and their decision to stop publishing the M3 data, essentially disguising a large portion of our economy. The third addresses my feeling on Real ID, the new national ID card that will be forced down our throats in 2009. The fourth, and final, covers what I do when I feel like I’m paying too much at the gas pump.

I hope they will both serve to educate and inspire! Happy reading!
